Actually, I perfectly understood your question and answered it in my previous reply itself.

Attaching the illustration below for more clarity. So, there is one more hinge (apart from one for the cover of the storage area itself) that is used to fold or unfold the armrest once it is fitted in your car.

Secondly, from your last pic in your post, it shows 2 bolts at the back on one back side, so as you have said, the same 2 bolts will be on the front clamp. So, this became 4 bolts on one side and 4 bolts on the other. Am i right?
You are right when you say 4 bolts on one side but if you notice, the top 2 bolts on either sides are merely used to secure the Armrest unit attached to the base with the 2 independent legs. These 2 holes at the top are also used for adjusting the height of the armrest depending on the driver's suitability.

Then comes the other 4 bolts (2 on either sides) which are those that finally get into the car's center cup holder console. These are the 4 bolts/screws for which you need to make 4 holes.

Hope its all clear now.

By the way, you may have received a pair of bolts less as I have seen 2/4 instances where the shipper has actually missed including them. Please verify the same and if found short, but it from any hardware shop.

Paragsachania, delighted to read your Wagon-R is closer to the 2-lakh mark. Kudos.
I had commented on this thread in Jan this year when my 2005 F10D engine Wagon R had crossed 1,15,000. Now it stands very close to the 1,22,000 mark... :-)

Paragbhai! Great to know the WagonR is just 1K away from the 2L mark! Its amazing how you've taken care of the car with such attention to detail. It's not about the 2L kms as much as its about how you've always given us, with such humility, extremely insightful perspectives in such a simplified way (from which we've got to learnt a mighty lot), ofcourse its a rare opportunity and an absolute privilege to know you!

Heres to wishing you many a million miles ahead! Enjoy the drive. Looking forward to more of the wonderful insights that we're used to from your side.

-Rgds

With or without Parag's knowledge, I am sure he would have timed his present drive where he could achieve the magic number 200000. Its a great achievement! Not for the number, but the immaculate condition the Waggy is in with 2L up its sleeve.

Specifically "Parag" deserves a standing ovation when the odo reads 200000. This weekend for sure is celebration time Parag!!!

Advance congratulations to you and your Waggy

After 7 years, 1 month, 29 days the F10D finally touched the proud 200000 Kms mark on the Odometer on yesterday night here in Bangalore after I drove back from Mumbai.

All I can still say is that the car remains in the best of its shape in terms of performance, efficiency and reliability that I can't even in my wildest thoughts plan to dispose him off.

As I passed Belgaum yesterday evening while driving back from Mumbai/Pune, I realised that I may not reach the 200000 mark by simply taking the usual route back home. I calculated a shortage of 8-13 kms after reaching home and when I did, the ODO was 199986.

funkykar, lloydofcochin along with a few more friends were waiting at my place to drive somewhere and celebrate the event.

Butterflies in stomach!!

What a way to celebrate this. Loved the tag line on the cake which was the idea of most of my friends who were there last night.

Parag,
Let me be one of the first persons atleast on this forum to congratulate you for the stupendous effort. Even though am not surprised am excited looking at those figures achieved by the humble Wagon R. Keep them rolling, so would the next milestone be 300K?

Congrats to you on owning such a wonderful car, and to the car for having such a careful owner. Your WagonR looked fabulous in the last pictures I saw of it, hardly an example with 2 lakh kms on the odo!

Had included your ride in my maintenance best practices article here (Best Practices : Maintain your Car in Top Shape)

Thanks crazyfordriving!! As calculated the 200000 kms happened after driving another 14 kms after I reached from Pune on 21st May. It was a delighted feeling with most of you all present there to celebrate.

Thanks Karthik. It was indeed great to have you when the landmark number was achieved 2 days before.

Thanks GTO. The car indeed has been a wonderful companion over the last 7 years without a single instance of breakdown or issues on efficiency or performance. Even during the last drive spanning 2200 kms Between Bangalore-Pune-Mumbai-Thane-Bangalore, it returned a FE of 18kmpl with 100% use of Air Conditioner and cruising speeds of 100-120kmph on most of the stretches.

Latest pictures

I was at Surakshaa car care for a routine visit about 3 weeks before where I was introduced to folks from Car Studio who wanted to showcase (and Demo) their Nano Technology products.

Lokesh (works Manager) gave a go ahead for those folks to work on my car for the product demonstration.

Here are a few pictures taken 3 weeks before when the ODO was 198,XXX kms.

The Front:

Yours Truly posing with his most reliable companion for 2 Lakh kilometers!

Got BHP? Well, its got just 64 of them:

The Front row:

A closer look:

The rear bench:
My Maruti Wagon-R F10D: Beyond 10 Years & 232,000 kms-rear-bench.jpg

Notice in the above pic that both the rear seats have been reclined at an angle as the standard position is too upright.

Rear:

The windscreen after the Nano Tech treatment. The outcome was not for a shiny glass but to ensure lesser water droplet accumulation during rains:

A few photos of both the sides:

Finally, a better pic of the illuminated instrument console with 200000!!
My Maruti Wagon-R F10D: Beyond 10 Years & 232,000 kms-p1410802.jpg

I plan to get rid of those small scratches on the bumper and a thick line on the left rear door soon to get her back in a scar-less avataar.

Ever since the car was purchased, there has been zero claims from the last 7 years. I have simply ignored those small little marks on the bumper thinking I will get it done "one fine day".

Sorry PVS that I completely ignored responding you on the question.
I installed the Alloys when the car had clocked around 1,20,000 kms on the ODO and they are PLATI make.

I picked them up from a known to me shop in Sanjaynagar, Bangalore paying 12,000 for a set of 4 that included a set of Chrome nuts and complimentary alignment and balancing as well.

The problem with alloys on the WagonR is that you won't be able to get 4J size alloy in 13" and will have to invariably install 4.5j which will be a wider fit.

Doing so will result in the tires (even OE Profiles of 145/70/13 or 155/65/13) scrapping the rear wheel arches, mostly on the right side. The only workaround for the same will be to install 1 inch spacers for the rear only.

In the after market, if you are able to get 4J profile in 13 inches, I would strongly suggest to settle for a pattern in that.

I usually travel with family and hence with the boot and the rear bench fully loaded, the spacers have never bothered me since the past 80,000 kms!
