Thanks. Didn't notice that it is a bit misaligned. Eagle eyes you have.

Thanks. Good point. Will check it out with SB today. I do not have the owner's details, so a manual check is in order I guess.

You can check service records with MASS and they will help you with detials. You will also get to know the brand used.

That's right. I bought my 'new' VXi in Jan 06.

IIRC, new VXi had the following differences with the old one :
# Climate control
# 14" alloys
# 185/65/15 Goodyear NCT5 Tubeless tyres
# Kenwood MP3 player (i think the earlier one came with a cassette player. I could be wrong)
# White indicator covers on the tail lamp, instead of orange
# Headlamp levelling (not entirely sure)
# Nippon Remote locking (again not entirely sure)

Shuvc, yours was really new. Mine is "new".

# Climate control - Not in mine
# 14" alloys - 13" Suzuki branded alloys in mine I think
# 185/65/15 Goodyear NCT5 Tubeless tyres - must be 13". They are on Goodyears now.
# Kenwood MP3 player (i think the earlier one came with a cassette player. I could be wrong) - A Blaupunkt MP3 with 2 Kenwod coaxials at the rear and something in the front door. The previous owner might have changed the Kenwood HU to a Blaupunkt HU. Not sure.
# White indicator covers on the tail lamp, instead of orange - Mine is Orange
# Headlamp levelling (not entirely sure) - Yes this is there.
# Nippon Remote locking (again not entirely sure - Yes, Suzuki branded Nippon remote locking is there.

Driver seat height adjustment is great.

Thats a well kept car you got there Proxima. Looks real neat. It should offer you hassle free years of motoring. Congratulations.

Do keep this thread updated with the ownership experience.

SB looked at my car yesterday and we decided the following:

1. To check the accelerator pedal and see if the cable and stuff needs to be cleaned.
2. The clutch seems a bit tight, will need to get that checked.
3. Bounciness reduced when I reduced the pressure from 32 to 29. Will do wheel
alignment and balancing to see if it disappears.

Proxima brought the car over yesterday night and we went over stuff for an hour or so. In short, a SWEET deal.

Photos DO NOT do justice to how this car looks in reality. Apart from a small dent on the roof (maybe something fell on it), and a scratch on rear door, I could not see a SINGLE scratch anywhere. The car looks like just out of the showroom. Not even a single scratch on the bumpers also. I am surprised how the original owner managed to keep it this way in Chennai traffic for 4 years.

Maybe he did a scratch removal + buffing/polishing job before selling to get a good price ?

The first thing I noticed on driving was that the clutch was really hard - benchmark being my Baleno of same vintage. Since his Mom is going to use this, this needs to be fixed. And the A-pedal was also kinda hard - not smooth. Maybe experts can suggest what can be done for these 2 issues.

The price he paid is just 2 sweet for a less than 4 year old Vxi done only 32K kms. Anyone who wants to buy Balenos (esp. in Chennai) get in touch with Proxima to know going rates - he has loads of experience on buying used Balenos.

I don't think he got a good price.

Yes, need suggestions please. SB told me Exteem Lover and Vikram_d are well versed with cars, not to forget our Nitrous anna.

At 32k kms, the clutch will neither be hard nor easy. I hope the mileage is genuine. Do you have the service records for the car ?

I got the service booklet today. 20k service is done but 30k service is not done. I will need to call the service center to find out.
