The black beauty still looks brand new! I remember seeing it over my last Bangalore visit and drooling over the squeaky clean wheel spokes (each one of 'em). You keep her just as a true petrolhead would, Rudra. I am not selling my Vtec for a long time to come, and you obviously don't have any reason for replace the Optra either. We even got our sedans within a month of each other (though my Vtec has logged double the miles).

Fitting report, pictures and tribute to an excellent tourer.

Excellent Report, Amazing Pics.

These pics can be taken for Ads as well, very well done.

Good to hear your ownership experiences and management of the toughest colour (Black) for Indian roads.

I for one, have been repenting for choosing black color, thanks to too much dust here.

Thumbs up

The pictures are AWESOME! I'm sorry, I did not read the text. I don't think I need to read the text, the pictures itself is telling me how the vehicle is doing and your impression of it. Awesome, man

The saddest part of this will be the resale value of your car Rudra. Better to keep her for as long as you need to.

Awesome snaps. You really ought to start a thread giving tips on maintaining a car as well as you've maintained your Optra. Stunning photography too.

Just curious, how long did you spend taking the side profile snap? Do you polish her specially for the shoot or is this how she looks all the time?

Your car looks as good as new, Rudraji. Your efforts should serve as a benchmark for anyone who cares about his/her car.

I won't stop or try to stop you if I spot your car on Bangalore's roads, else I run the risk of getting ridiculed/slapped by you for keeping my car unkempt.

Wishing your car a 100 more birthdays with you.

What's the current price going now for a 1.8? Around 3 lacs? That's 1/4th the price I paid.

Profile shot didn't take more than couple minutes to complete. Car wasn't polished for the shoot. In fact it's over due now.

Inspirational, is all I can say. May you get an even nicer car, like a Jag or a CLS! We'll have non-stop drooling on the forum.

Please, do explain! I was wondering why the OP was calling it a Korean car.

Those pictures are awesome, well done! Did you use a polarizing filter when taking the pics?
That car looks brand new. Please share your car care techniques because they obviously work - and very well!

Chevrolet Optra is otherwise known as the Daewoo Nubira. It was designed, built and engineered by Koreans. However, the power plant is a Holden from Australia. The diesel is a Detroit Diesel.

Truly a kichdy.

Your car will fetch 4+ still NOT worth the IDEA!

Car was dirty by Rudra's standard, actually i was cribbing that car needs to be more clean and why Ramalingam was not consulted before the shoot But i guess she still looks the way she should at 85kph.

Dang! I didn't see this review until today. I am a bit busy since last week and therefore a little picky about what threads to read. Going by the title, I thought it was a Santro long term review.

Fantastic photographs, nothing less would be acceptable. Can't believe this car has spent 5 years in Bangalore.

No. Body design by Pininfarina of Italy. The suspension was fine-tuned by engineers from Lotus, UK.

Yes, designated Z18 XE.

Yes you can say that.
