| Senior - BHPian | Looking great Ravveendra. The joy that you get out of driving a car which you've completely rebuilt is something which cannot be explained. What colour are you painting the dashboard? It looks like the tan/brown colour on the i20. It will go well with the tan seats which you have planned. My personal opinion would be to remove the grafix and leave it plain. If possible, get an S10 spoiler, and it will look smashing. Just my 2 cents tho. ![]() |

| Senior - BHPian | Ravvendra, this project of yours will certainly inspire many to give their cars 2nd life for sure it has made me to think ![]() I would have prefer red instead however the finish seems to be brilliant. but am not very happy with stickering.... | Amazing. Which tyres are you planning? Low profile? Or high an off-road types? |

| Just some info: the italian stripes is not a sticker job and its a paint job in fact !!. The process and finish is to be felt to be believed. The initial pictures have traces of glue and hence the patchy look. A quick clean before the xyrellic coating and viewing the car in total will change the whole car as to whats visualised now. |

| The car is looking real amazing! Waiting for the climax and my suggestion: Get the alloys painted in gun metal shade (dark grey). It will look sinister. |

| Senior - BHPian | Thanks JVH, dr_know, JayD, lohitrao and Sidindica, for your kind words and encouragement. @ typeOnegative - as mentioned earlier, I had changed the tyres just last year, so there is no need to change them now. The car is now being assembled even as some bits are being painted. The windows, bumpers, headlams and taillights have been fitted and the car is looking good. Oh yes, I do have a confession. This colour and the scheme (including the stripes) were finalised before the car was even stripped. I am sorry I led you guys along. I did so to make the story more interesting in the telling - as the storyteller here, I guess I am entitled to embelish it a little . The white was sprayed on to highlight any flaws - it was later taken off almost in its entireity. The green and red were painted on as part of the process of painting the stripes, that process is very complicated and is a bit like offset printing and involves precision and perfect 'registration'. The second white is sprayed to give the perfect 'stage' for the yellow. Cheers, |

| BHPian | OMG! You really had me fooled all along with the 'test colours'!! Nicely done! Would the paint shop be able to re-apply the original vinyl stickers on the doors (B-pillar), or would they have to be aftermarket? Last edited by vipul_singh : 28th October 2010 at 21:14. |

| A clean full yellow without the 3 stripes ( that are breaking the looks) would have looked nice . |

| Senior - BHPian | Raveendra, to each his own. I think the GTX would look better without those stripes. If possible get a tyre upgrade and FFE. Nothing more. Nevertheless, you have put a lot of effort into this and good luck. |

The seats and door-pads came in late in the day yesterday and they were just able to put the seats in before winding up early in order to do what Hyderabadis love - 'daawat' or paaaarrrty! Here are a few pics of the GTX standing between an older sibling, a black Fiat Elegant and an Franco-Japanese product (a Peugeot 309 with a heart from Honda).
