If you find a good private service setup : the Octy will serve you well.

^ Any recommendations about where to get services in Pune?
Heard that authorized service centers try to rip-off ...

PS: must not get tempted by Octi, must not get tempted by Octi ...

I have heard some good reviews about Tune Up Plus in Baner

Personally, I have never got the car serviced from there. But the people from whom I have heard about Tune Up Plus are dependable and reliable.

Default Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI needs suspension & clutch work.

Amazing review, i also want to share my experience. We have completed similar amount of kms on our Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI Rider. It still gives us around 16-20/liter. I have been driving it since past three years between Delhi-Gurgaon. Earlier the car was driven by my father’s driver. The car needs suspension & clutch work now. We want to keep this car as it has been very reliable & fuel efficient. Can anyone share some garage in Delhi\NCR?

BTW, from my recent interactions with Skoda and Hyundai service guys (for my Laura and Tucson), I understood that vehicles that use Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) need the flywheel replaced alongwith clutch and pressure plate. hyundai Terracan has a DMF and hence Terracan clutch overhaul is expensive (well above 50,000 I was told). All Skoda's use DMF and hence the same issue. But this info from Hyundai did cool my nerves a bit - at least Skoda service guys are not bluffing completely.

So, if you love your Octavia, do get the DMF inspected and if it's really worn, do get it replaced alongwith the clutch. If your DMF is ok for some more km's, then your clutch overhaul should not be expensive (should be anywhere between 10,000 to 20,000 I think).

Good luck and keep us posted.
