Default My 10 Month old Hyundai Accent and its Bells and Whistles

Hello All

I have two cars and had already started a thread for the first one
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...pse-gt-v6.html (My Mitsubishi Eclipse GT V6)

So now I am starting this thread to introduce my 10 month old car. It's a 2008 August model Hyundai Accent. Purchased it after selling my 2003 Palio 1.2 Sports. It has done 23,500 Kms so far and has been a reliable performer so far. I have installed a lot of accessories in the car, so thought I should start a thread so as to share the information with fellow members.

Lot of accessories in the car like cabin lights, instrumentation white lights, HID headlights, etc. need night time pictures so will upload them soon. In the mean time here are some daytime pictures of the car. Sorry about the poor quality as these are from my cell phone camera. Right now I am in the process of getting the instrument panel light and HVAC controls lights changed to white. Its still not complete so will upload the pics as soon as they are done. I have also purchased a Hood Liner so as to reduce engine noise filtering into cabin. But that also hasn't been installed. Will probably get it done by tomorrow.

I've got the following accessories in the car as of now :
1. Alpine iDA-X300 HU
2. Alpine BT350 adapter for phone connectivity
3. Morel Tempo 6 6x9 oval Component for the rear
4. Morel 6" Components for the front door
5. Kenwood Amplifier KAC-6403
6. Front door and Rear parcel tray damping
7. Rear electric curtain
8. Side curtains for 4 doors along which roll up and down with the windows
9. AUTOFORM seat covers, Steering cover and door panels.
10. RD Reverse Sensors
11. Automatic window up relay
12. Bosch HID Headlights 6000K
13. Fog lights again with Bosch HID 6000k
14. Power Antenna
15. Lumar window tints on the sides and rear (50% visibility)
16. 3M window tint on the windshield (70% visibility)
17. Black tape on B-Pillars
18. Autocop central locking
19. Colour coordinated stearing cover and also door pads.
20. Cabin floor lights (2 below the dashboard and 2 below the front seats for rear)
21. Bosch pressure horn.
22. Body coloured side mirror covers with LED indicators.

Thank You I got everything done from one place and its in Palika Bhawan right opposite Hyatt Hotel in South Delhi. The name of the shop is Accessories Shoppe (New DC Motors) and the owners name is Ankush. He has a great collection of after market accessories or any kind of car.

I will definitely post the pics of the floor light. I am just waiting to complete the instrumentation light conversion to White and will post everything altogether. I think it should be done today or if not then by Tuesday.

Thank You

I have Autoform Seat, gear lever and steering cover. I paid 9k for the seats, 0.3k for the gear lever and 2k for the completely stiched steering cover. Its PU/PVC material not pure leather but is a very good quality one. I have been using these seat covers for the last 10 months and there is no sign of wear and tear so far. Mine seatcovers are from the U-Impress series.

you can find more information about these seat covers on their website
AutoForm Seat Covers - Premium Automotive Seat Covers in India

Electric Curtain was for 4k
Side curtains were for 3.5K (for a set of 4)
Side mirror covers were by Galio and were for Rs. 1200+Cost of painting when I bought em, but now I think they are cheaper and you can get a pair for like 700.

FE is around 11.5 to 12 in Delhi's traffic and on highway when I took it to Chandigarh and Jim Corbett I almost got 15-16 kmpl.

Hey, no its not a GPS. Its a bluetooth handsfree kit for my cell phone. I can see my calls, my phone book and use everything from that device without worrying about my phone. And I have also set it to automatic connection, so everything I enter the car and switch on the ignition the pairing get done on its own without asking me to do anything.

On road it was for 5.4 Lakhs and so far I have spent 1.2 Lakhs on the car . I know it sounds crazy but I just my car to be little different that other accents on road. And I think I have been able to accomplish my mission of converting it into a "POOR MANs' MERCEDES"

Yesterday I got the damping done for the hood by adding a hood liner. It has seriously reduced engine noise outside the car. Next I will get the cabin damping done by removing the dashboard and carpeted area, that should help in making my ride more quite . Here are some pics

I know actually I wanted to get it done too but I wasn't getting a good deal on my old set of wheels so I figured that when these one wear out then I will switch to 14" tires + Aura Wheels.

The Poor man's Mercedes looks great.

You are also getting FE around 2KMPL higher than a normal accent.

Enjoy the car.

Ya even my friends told me that, its probably because I drive with a light foot, I don't even rush around too much. Every time I get a tank full and when I refill it usually fills up in 36-37Litres and with that I get a run of around 410 - 418 Kms. Plus I get it serviced every 5000 kms and get it pressure washed every two weeks. May be all this is contributing to the good FE or may be I'm just lucky

I don't have the paperwork with me for the curtain so I don't remember what brand was it. But i'll definitely ask the guy who installed it about the brand.

I had one installed in my Verna as well. Controlled by a wireless remote. Some Crosswheels or Crosslinks brand (please excuse my poor memory). Carried one year warranty and i bought it for 3.7K.
But recently got rid of it coz it used to rattle with the bass from my ICE.

Hi Guys,

I got alloy wheels and 14" tires on my accent yesterday. After this I am going to get front and rear strut bars, better brakes, and cold air intake by K&N. Hopefully will get everything done within this month. Here are some of the pics of the new tires and the alloys.
