Getz GLE July'06 42500Kms ownership Experience.

Am the second owner , bought this car at 25000 Kms for 3.25L in Jan'08 . My requirement were good sturdy car with enough space for 5 , Had shortlisted Palio Stile 1.6 sport & Getz .Was about to book a new Getz GLX in Dec'07 based on my friend's suggestion , opted for a used car since this is my first car and have not driven before , so i had to learn from scratch . Had employed a driver for a year now on my own for last 5 months learning & unlearning driving .


My observations :

Good spacious car , very underrated for its utility , appeals to the head rather than heart ( more from FTD view),Comfortable & easy city car,slick gear box & gear ratio ,easy clutch. Getz is surely not a spirited highway burner , need to work on the gears to overtake and ideal highway car for distance not more than 300kms. Built quality is very good no rattles whatsoever till date.

My Fe has been in 12-13 range in city and 15-17 on highway drives. However had heard many complaints on the erratic FE on Getz

Not so good :

A/c - highly inefficient in summers / humid climate.
stock headlights

My car came with Stanley leather covers and another 6 months warranty , which was useful since the combination light switch & something in fuel system( tub like plastic unit in the tank) was changed under warranty.

Apart from periodic service ,had got the tires & front brake pads changed at 40k,decarbonizing done at 35K ,changed Front left Headlights & Right rear combination lamp due to rear ending accident on highway .Plan to change to sythentic oil in next service and upgrade the lights

A.S.S experience has been good till date , very helpful staff .

Overall , i am happy with the car had plans to exchange and buy CRDI seems like have to wait for somemore time before i lay my hands on the monster.
