This is a new one, havent heard of these problem much. If you write to Tata they will give you a free checkup of the entire car by their engineer and replacement of all parts which look faulty, but you have to really bug them.

Very very common problem in 2003-2004 indigos. all my friends indigo's have suffered from this sometimes.

Another common problem is the glow plugs. People in warmer climes will never get to know, but if you are frequently starting your car in below 20 degrees temp sometimes you will feel the pinch, as in long self.

Looking at all the problems you had, looks like you got a bad piece, its upto you to shout at Tata or take them to court. Consumer courts are very very consumer friendly nowadays, so you may get a good deal. But then its all upto you. If you are satisfied with what tata tells you, well and good

TATA makes such good cars, only let down by poor quality. Atleast Maruti is slightly better in this regard.

Bah!!! another honey and peach story gone awry! It started off with a nice little story of a satisfied customer and then turns into a sad story of a harassed and somewhat befuddled story of a guy who still feels that he had the golden goose that laid the gold eggs, only that the color ain't so golden anymore.

I do not understand why Tatas do not understand this. They perform so badly year after year in the JD Power surveys... and still. However having said that I believe with Tatas improvement is a slow but steady process. Current lot of Indicas are a proof when compared to the earlier ones. Maybe Pankaj's Indigo will also improve with newer parts (I assume that they will be of better quality).

Hi,
Got a call today from Om Sai motors requesting me to get the car to their workshop on thrusday morning.
Tata responded to my email sent out on friday morning and asked Om Sai to check my car.

Lets see whats happens on thrusday, will keep you guys posted.

hey pankaj ,i also have indigo lx 2003 aug model i have dne 52000km till date.as the car came i put 195/55/15 alloys and good year eagle venture .the ride handling has become amazing.well till date i have only replaced front ball joints and clucth once.and ya rear wheel bearing couple of times thats it for a car which is 52000km old.i think the aas who fixed your clutch,did not fix it properly.

Hello Everyone,

My car is 2 years 3 months old with 57000 kms completed.

The list of problems is still ever increasing.

Since i bought this car its under gone the following changes

Clutch - 4times at 18k, 20k, 29k and 44k
Releasing Bearing - 2times at 18k and 44k
Front Left Sturt - at 16k
Starter - 25k
Solnoid switch - 22k
Fuel Pump - at 38K
ECU - at 37k
Engine Mounts - at 28k
Ball Joint - at 40k

Fuel economy is at 13kmpl.

Those are quite a list of replacements. Except clutch, there's none they can blame on you. It seems like quite a lot of problems you faced. How much of that came outta your pocket?
