My dad has been driving the car for his regular office commute, and he is all praise for the comfort - and how big the car feels from inside being a small car. But FE is 'pathetic' by his standards - guess the M800 has spoiled him big time on FE.

The seat covers are history, as during a storm, a window was left open (a part time driver was hired that day by my mom), and water got all over the seats. Next - the car was covered in a hurry and left for a month. Fungus and molds did their job, and when dad finally realized it (he too was out of town) - it was too late to save the seat covers. This is the single reason I do not trust drivers for hire to drive a personal car - lack of responsibility.
Dad has also taken care of the regular service (1st paid service), and rest is smooth.

In case you need, I would recommend Shreyas Auto on AJC Bose Road for seat covers. They make custom fitted art leather covers at affordable price. You can choose the fabric, color and styling as well.

Thanks sbiswas. Would check them out once I go back to Kolkata.

hi guys, just joined the I10 AT club!

One quick query - there is plenty of bass rattling from the doors from the driver side speaker on prolonged low frequency. Is this normal?

Also, the passenger seat back, on emergency stops, moves around slighty..a bit discomfiting. Any similar experience?

Do check if the I10 rear seat back rest has been secured (clipped) properly to the hinges on both sides of the seat. Regarding the rear seat bottom rest, it is usually fastened by a bolt behind (remove the boot carpet and you will see the nut) and a 'switch' in front (in the middle of a seat).

I filled up around 22 litres, and maybe used 13 litres (I guess the approximation is ok based on the fuel indicator). So the approximate mileage till now comes to be (167-39)/13 = 9.84 kmpl !! Not bad eh?

My drive consists of 23 kms each way while coming and returning. 50 - 50 city highway, and I keep the A/C on 50% of the time (cooling and switching off, then again cooling after 15-20 minutes, like that!)

Let me know your thoughts, I shall continue to update the mileage figures.

Also figured out yesterday from the manual how to keep the parking lamps on while the key is removed (auto headlamps off - remember!).
Hi blackasta,

My i10 Sportz AT is 4 months old and done 6200 kms. The average FE i get is 7 kmpl with AC on all the time ( driving in New Delhi, ok?).

Any inputs on this? Any ways to improve it? BTW, I am a light-footed driver.

my bad misquitas, it's the front passenger back rest. Will check with H.A.S.S. during the first service.

No one's sat in the rear sit yet incidentally

I believe it should do atleast 10 kmpl based on your usage. Try to check that tires are correctly inflated, and you have not (by mistake) kept the O/D off engaged (No O/D off sign should be visible). Also - things should improve after the 2nd service at 6 months.

I also used to get around 7 kmpl with 100% AC during the first few months. There are threads here which discuss in detail how to get the best out of i10 AT. There is a technique by which you can upshift/downshift with your accelerator. Try to master this and you will get better mileage, but expect FE to be 9-10 kmpl or less with AC. Majority of the team-BHPians are getting single digit FE with their i10 AT.

hi, I feel an armrest is essential in ATs - miss it in my I10.

This link looks rather fetching..

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Any comments/experience with this?

I always rest my hand on the stick itself. Never felt the need for armrest.

Looks nice! Guess one would lose the rear cup holder if this is installed.
Also - have to check if this interferes with the handbrake operation.

Hi Siddhartha, can you please share the e-mail ID of Arvind Saxena and HW park? Did you get those from Hyundai website? I want to keep those handy in case such as thing comes up, since it'd be impossible for my ageing parents to do any kind of running around in case of problems. Thanks in advance!

Arvind Saxena has left Hyundai.

I shall PM you the email id of HW Park.
But my suggestion is first try the CRM email id, and only reach out to the top boss as the last resort.

Dad got the 4th year extended warranty for the Dark Knight. After the airbag fiasco - I felt it is a worthwhile investment.
Also extended the insurance from IFFCO TOKIO for a year via the Mukesh Hyundai showroom. Got the 25% NCB (no claim for 2 years) and 2 free service coupons to be used in any Mukesh Hyundai service center.
