I mean seriously mate...? c'mon ? that bad ?

Update :

Went on a road trip to GOA, the car performed well .
Except one minor glitch.
The driver side power window conked of in GOA, It was stuck half way.

Checked fiat website for the service center

Service Center Name : AUTO INDUSTRIES GOA PVT LTD,
Address :
V.N.Naik Road,
Fatorda Margoa
Goa, Goa
Pincode :403602

Went there , and the winder (power window kit) was replaced free of cost under warranty , no questions asked .

It is huge service center they claim to have to all parts in store at all times.

I must appreciate there excellent customer service and attitude .

update : completed 20,000+ kms
recently did a bangalore-chennai drive

millage : 21 kmpl onwards (very less ac, less traffic)
19kmpl return (100% AC and peak hour traffic)

Recently noticed a coolant leakage issue, it is a very small leak , level goes down after 30-45 days.

Service advisor at prerena checked it and found a minor leak near starter motor .Have to leave the car with them for through inspection and fix.

good to see all fiat ownership threads being updated regularlly and helping others. That is a great FE you got, could you specify the drving speeds also.

Got the coolant leakage issue resolved at prerana motors.
hopefully it will not reoccur.
The front brake pads were replaced as well , on my request.
Was surprised to see pads completely worn out at 22k kms.
Cost of parts + labor 2700~ odd.
Wiper blades changed as well for 1050Rs pair which is quite steep.

Service center experience was quite good i would say.

But im not happy about the cost of wiper blades and , brake pads wearing out so quickly , is this normal for a hatchback?

Wiper blades used to Cost around 800 earlier. AFAIK its bosch aero twins and are costly.
My brake pads is @ 30k kms now. I would say it depends on driving style

Not really. My Punto's brake pads lasted 33k and a friends lasted almost 40 but that's because his car does highway runs more often.

Wipers went bad so soon ?

wipers were not un-useable they were still doing the job but it got them changed due to frequent rains in Bangalore.Love the clean wipe now.

Ya the wipers are bosch aero twins , fiat states max life of brake pads to be 15k which is quite less.Mine were almost totally worn out, good thing i got it checked otherwise they would have scratched/damaged the discs.

Does Fiat state this or did the service center say this to you ?
The reason I ask is because often Service centres replace brake pads much earlier than needed because they make decent profits of the same.
At my 15k service,Rama motors told me my pads were out. They lasted another 18k.
I'm sure this didn't happen to you but I'm curious about this 15k brake pad life issue

the service center never asked me to replace the brake pads,in fact i noticed that the brakes had lost some bite and were making a screeching metal again metal sound from the front wheels while on any ramp/slope.
also the black dust which always collects on the front alloys was missing for the past 1000 kms or so.
that got me thinking that maybe the brake pads are gone.

I had been to service center for coolant leakage issue so asked them to take off the wheels and check the pads.
The pads were totally worn out , that's why i got them replaced .
Later on when i asked the SA if this is normal for the brakes to wear out so soon, he told fiat states the life of the brake pads to be 15k only.

also read on team fiat about many other owners complaining about the same.

ms, the life of the normal wear and tear items like brake pads and clutch depends a lot on the type of usage. if you are predominantly driving inside the city then the life goes down. This is because of continuous engagement and dis-engagement. As you have correctly observed, there is lot of brake dust accumulated on the wheels. Also the front brakes have to do a lot of heavy duty because of the weight of the car. The material selected for the brake pads cannot be made highly wear resistant. This effects the braking performance. Its always good to get the brake pads replaced at around 20K kms, just to ensure optimum performance.

Default 26,000 Km 2 year update.

The car completed 2 years last week.
It has run a little more than 26000 kms till date.

Got the third service done at prerana motors kudlu gate.

The service experience was good. There were no major issues with the car.
Wheel alignment was a bit off in-spite of getting it done recently at madhu's, FIAT has updated the alignment values recently , and i guess it is not available at most places except TASS.All the issues were resolved , and all fluids, filters have been replaced .There was a dent on the oil sump and guard thanks to the hidden craters on bangalore roads , got it replaced as well.

total cost ~8000Rs

I am very satisfied with the overall ownership experience , no complaints whatsoever .There are no squeaks / rattles anywhere and everything works perfect .The FE has improved a bit more and the engine is much more eager now.Just love the handling and awesome road grip .Its an awesome car to take on long highway drives.

Now a few pictures from recent trips
