I have genuine Nokia mobile charger for my N95 that fits snugly into my Linea's cigarette lighter. Otherwise, you can go for Belkin AC Anywhere car inverter. If you buy this from letsbuy.com, don't forget to use the e-coupon RCOMLB1 to get a discount! Belkin car inverter is a nice gadget. It fits the cigarette lighter and charges my laptop, mobile, etc.

But generally original Mobile Chargers are two-pin once and not USB based, to fit into Linea Lighter.
Is this one a USB cable/socket based?
Then if I buy one and push in the USB socket of my Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 Mini...to be cheaper!

It is not a FIAT-approved accessory. Having said that, the warranty does not get null and void if we use this accessory as no cutting of wires is involved.

Default Another Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore Trip

My Linea drove to and fro Chennai on 9/10 August 2011. Spirited driving. 5 people on board. ACC @ 20 deg C through out the trip. Encountered with heavy rain after Krishnagiri during the return journey.

Ravi, how do define spirited in your case? The reason I ask is to corelate that speed to the FE ?
13.5Kmpl for a GQ looks small and that too by the Linea.

Even with ACC @20C, should'nt you get about 17-19?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks, ampere. The best FE I get is when I maintain 80-90 kmph speed. My Linea returned a FE of 16.1 kmpl as detailed here (Cara Mia Fiat Linea!). But, if I drive in triple-digit speeds with the speed warning buzzer constantly buzzing, FE decreases disproportionately. This is the FE indicated in FIAT India website [under standard test conditions]:

Considering the above figure, the FE scored by my Linea under actual driving condition is decent enough, IMO.

Ravi,

The how come, some folks are quoting in access of 20?
Am I missing something or is it they only drive at 60-70?

FE in excess of 20 kmpl belongs to Linea 1.3 Multijet [diesel]! Mine is petrol-driven.

Oops! Big mistake on my side.
That explains every thing.

I naturally assumed yours was a diesel, given the fact that you roam across the country!

It's okay, ampere. Actually Linea Emotion Pack 1.3 Multijet costs Rs 1.5 lakh more than that of its petrol counterpart. Maintenance cost of diesel version is also more than that of petrol version. I have driven petrol version vehicles all along. But, after I bought my Linea, my usage has increased tremendously which justifies diesel version!

Sorry for hijacking this thread. I have a question on the second service.
My friend got the second service done for his Linea Emotion from Lexus Motors, Kolkata and ended up with a bill of Rs 4937! I felt it was high, considering the feedback from this forum.

A scanned view is attached. Sorry for the bad scan quality.

The culprit appears to be the engine oil described as "GASOLINE ENGINE OIL MOBILI 0W40" that was charged 1013.22 / litre. Any comments on this?

I have asked him to carry the team-bhp recommended oil for the next service
What should that be?

FIAT have specified SeleniaK and SeleniaWR for petrol and diesel engines respectively. Ask your friend to ensure specified engine oil for his Linea.

Additionally to Selena range of Oil's, FIAT is now recommending Mobil 1 also. Remember Selena is semi-synthetic and Mobil 1 is fully synthetic. Change interval for Selena is 15,000kms and for Mobil1 it is 30,000 kms. During my service, I was asked which oil I need and I chose Selena.

Similar to the case here, one of my friend's Punto diesel was filled up with Mobil1 by Concord and he was un-happy with it. On his perusal, Concord gave in writing that he can go ahead without changing oil up to 30,000kms, ie., carry out his 30k service without changing oil and then change oil in the 45k service.

Next time around, please ensure that you specify which oil you need while leaving your car for service as the service centers in most cases do not ask you.
