Thanks a lot, Palio_2005 and Vtecguy7166, for compliments and nice words. Sure, I would write a detailed travelogue with photographs after my return to HQ.

Ravi sir,

Hope you reached Nagpur by now? Or Hyderabad? It might have been an experience filling petrol at so many states with so much variation in prices. And does Linea have ACC? just cant wait for your travelogue.

I am in Surat now. See the update given below.

Yes. Delhi's fuel is the cheapest while Bangalore's is the costliest, IIRC. I have to compare Pondicherry's fuel price before shouting from the roof-top.

Yes. All through our to and fro Leh, the ACC had been set at 20 deg C to prevent inhalation of dust and also to keep us warm as the outside temperature was in single digits on the mountain tops.

Leh Expedition Update

Yesterday and today, I did the penultimate lap of Chandigarh to Surat. We left Chandigarh at 2 pm yesterday and reached Ginger, Surat at 4 pm today including breaks for 2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, 4 re-fuelling stops, power nap for 45 minutes and one-hour traffic jam at Narmada bridge near Bharuch.

I know you don't like the to take the same route, hence you skipped the Nagpur-Hyd & are coming via Rajasthan, Gujarat

That is heck of a driving, so you have driven almost 26 hours non-stop , & to top it you are updating this thread at 05:00pm (really hats off to you Ravi Sir). Aren't you feeling strained? Aren't your eyes swollen or head going bonkers? Please take a self photograph after this 26 hours drive. Want to believe my eyes.

Not at all. Now, I feel that I should have planned my night halt at Mumbai instead of Surat!

That is "One Tight Slap" for me. I am totally perplexed. You surely don't have the normal human being DNA, it must be the DNA of some super natural being. Also is it the Linea "cocoon" that is keeping you so fresh & making you go for that one extra step? Either ways a big salute to your zeal & enthusiasm

@J Ravi: In retrospect, do you think you must have gone in for the MJD instead of the FIRE? Savings must have been 'considerable' with all that driving you do.

Before buying my Linea, I did TD of both petrol and diesel versions. My budget didn't allow me to go in for 1.3 MJD. I am happy with my 1.4 FIRE.

Ravi Sir, you have been a model inspiration for all of us. I used to think I cant drive as much as I do now once we cross 50+. But you have proved it all wrong. Looks like it is just the car and health that matters and age is immaterial. Hats off to you for conquering Leh on your beauty.

Leh Expedition Final Update

My Linea brought us back home safely at 11:15 am today. Earlier, we had left Ginger, Surat at 2:00 pm yesterday. The journey included breaks for 1 evening tiffin [at Vithal Kamat's, Manor], tea at BP COCO pump near Talegaon toll plaza, breakfast at Kamat Upachar at Ranebennur attached to Reliance petrol pump, 4 refuelling stops, slow-moving traffic in Mumbai, traffic jam for more than 1 hour near Powai and 2 power naps totalling 1 hour.

Detailed travelogue with photographs will start soon.

Thanks, autohead, for nice words. My Linea bottom-scraped more than 50 times during the Leh expedition. But, no damages. I got the engine guard bend flattened at FIAT dealership at Amritsar and Srinagar and my Linea became as quiet and normal as before!
