Yesterday, we had left Shillong at 8:30 am, reached Phuentsholing by 9:30 pm and stayed at Hotel Centennial 2008.

I don't think so. Another Linea-owner [Mahesh Natarajan] did it in his Linea in 2010.
Great Ravi Ji. This is the update I am waiting for since yesterday. I was thinking that you may not have got the connectivity to post the updates.

Thanks, AutoIndian. The Phuentsholing to Thimphu road [AH 48] is an excellant single carriageway, 2-lane butter-smooth road except for some long stretch of single/intermediate lane roads, where on a few instances, I had to back my Linea to allow the truck coming from the opposite direction. Some stretches of road are being widened and yet to be asphalted. These ghat roads are maintained by Indian BRO.

Hotel Singye's wireless connectivity is restricted to their restaurant, where we are breakfasting now!

Default Trip To East & North-East - Update

Posting this message from OTDC Panthanivas, Puri, Odisha, where we checked in at 9:15 pm today. We left Thimphu at 7:30 am IST yesterday. After visiting Chelela Pass near Paro, I started driving towards home @ 12 noon yesterday. Drove about 1500+km in 38 hours, thanks to West Bengal's notorious roads and traffic jams.

Have you been driving 1500+km in 38 hours in one stretch?

That's one heck of a drive. I am still wondering how can you manage to overcome with all the driving fatigue & get refreshed, with just one hour power naps, need to learn this art from you. Also most of your drives are through the dark hours of night, when visibility is extremely poor, one needs to be extra alert, can't afford to even wink, hats off to you. Do you think you could have managed such long, treacherous journeys if you were is a vehicle other than the Linea?

Thanks, AutoIndian. These are all mere updates. I have scheduled to start my travelogue on the same day I return to HQ. I plan to visit Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Guwahati, Kaziranga National Park, Shillong, and the last but not the least, Bhutan! All these places are to be covered in 22 days.

You have hit the bull's eye, hemanth.anand. Even those 8 km coverage was due to my occasional drive to keep my Linea's battery fully charged. Do you know another fact: my Linea was spotted so far in Pune, Chandigarh, and even in Khardung La. But not in Bangalore. :(

Thanks, kodivasanth, for the best wishes.

Thanks, anekho.

Thanks, Ramesh.

Default Trip To East & North-East - The Final Update

We [me, my wife and my Linea] reached our home safely exactly at 2:55 pm today. We left Konark, Odisha yesterday at 11 am. This time, I drove 1568 km in 28 hours, thanks to the excellent 4-lane roads in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. I parked my Linea along with other trucks in a truck lay-bay area in some unknown place at Andhra Pradesh this morning and had a nice sleep from 4 am to 5 am and continued the journey. We stopped at a defunct Reliance pump after Nellore in Andhra Pradesh [pump closed, but the restaurant was open] for our morning ablution and breakfast. After many days, we enjoyed the delicious breakfast comprising idly, vada, pongal and coffee. We ate our late lunch at home.

When the journey ends, will the travelogue be far away? I don't think so. Hope, my travelogue would be made available for public viewing asap.
