Apart from what you have listed Jetta scores better on rear bench space and marginally better ride. Looks are subjective, what looks good to me might not be good to you. Jetta vs Laura is a very difficult question to answer, here is what i posted long back in another thread:
Quote:
My pick with respect to requirement and budget with reason-
Lower/middle variant MT- Jetta, because of the 140hp engine and safety kit.
Lower/middle variant DSG- Laura, as Jetta does not come with DSG in lower variant.

Top variant MT- Jetta, as Laura does not have L&K in MT.
Top variant AT- Laura, for the superior equipment level, looks and richer interior feel.
For extra airbags I am not sure, but my guess is they are side airbags for rear passengers.

I find Jetta Highline DSG expensive for what it offers, wish they had DSG for lower variants or some more feel good equipment for this variant to justify the tag.

Finally my car gets its optional features activated, all Thanks to Behemoth!

Features activated-
-Autolock
-Auto unlock
-Needle Sweep
-Cornering lights
-Deactivated Anti-Hijack unlocking(double press unlock)

Not sure if needle sweep would look good on my humble Laura with the puny 2.0 Diesel, last i saw needle sweep was in Audi R8 V10

Sure sir, let's plan to meet up sometime and do this on your Laura too. Maybe in the next Gurgaon meet we can meet up a little early. Just remind me to carry my VCDS cable and my laptop!

Regards,
Behemoth

Please make it a New Delhi meet like the one in Karnal couple of months back.
So that I can get some things activated on my Skoda also.

Have a great trip Anshuman. I was also planning it this year but could not make it due to a family emergency.
Looking forward to your travelogue when you return!

Godspeed Anshuman.
I guess this is the first TBHP Laura to go to Ladakh. How many occupants in the car? How much luggage?

Looking forward for the performance stats of the car eagerly now.

Super - will await the details of how the Laura performs. As well as a lot of snaps of the view around.

Slightly extra Tyre PSI on the hills should give you a bit more groung clearance in a loaded vehicle.

Suggest you avoid S mode on the climbs. (I think I may have damaged my turbo once due to over enthusiastic driving in S mode on steep climbs.) Madness had gripped me then.

Good going Anshuman! Probably the first DSG Laura to visit Ladakh?

All the best, and drive safe!

Running 2 PSI extra for now, ride has suffered but might improve with load. No plans to use S mode, maybe tip-tronic for steep descents to help with engine braking. Thanks for the advice
