Power of 110bhp MT is sufficient for me, quick enough too,
I have the MT Jetta 2010 with same power band.

Here is my feedback

Car has exceptional pulling power 1,2 gear and 4th as well.

Car is tuned for mileage at 3rd for sure where there is definite delay in delivery compared to 2nd.

Car can do 100 in 3 gears in very little time.

Car can do over 150 (aaaramse)

Car has enough power to carry 5 people with least impact on performance(Try this in swift and you will know why the swift feels heavy and slow)

Overtaking power which is needed is available all the time at all the gears.

Till date i have never felt the need for additional power, though i dont mind having the same.

The best gear in the MT is your second gear. It has so much of power and torque that its always my power gear.

Hi Anshuman,

Thanks for your wishes guys! Reached back home safely last night at 12. Enjoyed the trip and car performed as expected, not even a single puncture. Details later.

Did you give the car for service after the trip ? What was the total bill if it was given for service ?

@anshuman: Have you experienced a 'left drift' in your laura? If I leave the steering in dead centre position, the car steers towards the left. On the highways, its really annoying when you have to constantly keep the steering to a slight right position, its tiring for the arm, I tried wheel balancing, alignment, rotation, no change. Comments?

Two things you got to check.

Tyres - Rotate the tyres and see if the pull is still on the left side.
Suspensio/Tierods/ Bushings- Anything worn out here can cause this.

Apart from that there are quite a few reasons:-

Camber being uneven - This could be due to worn out struts itself.

Even any leaks in seal in power steering can cause this:-

Can be as simple as tyres to as complex as the suspension overhaul.

ANother silly thing - Could it be the road crown itself?

The car is merely 40,000 kms in to its mileage. And the problem is since delivery. Only i havnt been able to solve it, but now the degree of left drift has increased. Will give my car for its 3rd service next week. Lets see what the service dumb*** has to say. Tried rotation, checked leaks, suspension is as new as it can be, i think camber is uneven too.

Problem is there are too many variables and not to blame the service guys for its not easy to completely pin point the problem.

Instead its a diagnostic nightmare where you have to go after fixing one after the other and hoping one will resolve it.

Check the tyre threads. Not just your front left. All four wheels.

To me it looks more mechanical which could also be as unrelated as a lose engine mount to completely related suspension and drive.

Even a mm of difference between left and right will create a bigger impact.

- When do you see this prominent drift- High speed or low speed.
- Slowly move the vehicle front to back and see if at slow speeds the car keeps its track.

Its tough on the mechanics as well for something like this. Wont blame the SA for this diagnostics does not come on a monitor.

The car did not go for service after Ladakh trip, there was no need since there are no damages to the car except a few scratches on sump guard.

My car will go for 45k service this week. The AC compressor is acted weird a few times last month, so will have to get it checked, apart from this there are no issues with the car.

I do not have any such issues with my car, i never observed car drifting to a side problem. The Alignment even after the Ladakh trip was well within specified range.

The AC compressor has been a weak link with the Laura for long. Don't know if the same unit does duty on the current Superb TSI, then I too should be worried in the future.
