Default Importing a fortuner to India

I already posted this question in another thread but after receiving no response I am posting another thread..

As the title goes, is it possible to import a toyota fortuner to india under 16lakhs? (on road after all taxes are paid)

If yes what are the procedures.

mods for the double thread and please move it to the appropriate place..

Thanks in advance

The fortuner is gonna be launched by toyota very soon.....doesnt make any sense in getting one imported, also the landed cost will be upwards of 16lacs. I suggest you scrap the idea.

Karan, no offence but why you want to import Forester leaving all other cars? Is it so that you can have the car before anybody else and get the service when Toyota lauches the car in India?

I agree, Toyota has stretched the launch a bit too much. But you think its worth getting the car and then feeling like a fool when the guy next to you is driving the same car which he purchased for much less than you. I dont see the point but at the end it's your call. Good luck

You cannot import a Fortuner in India as firstly it is not above USD40000 and also needs a 3 litre engine plus to avoid homologation..
