HELP! My uncle is planning to buy a new car, and because im the car geek in the family hes depending on me. So i thought i would involve you guys. Hes looking for any sporty four door. The budget is about 40lacs. However he is purchasing this car abroad. So that means international prices. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated by both of us. Thanks.

Sport four door at 100k points to only two cars. The BMW M5 and Audi RS4. If he is looking for something cheaper, there are the usual suspects... the Mitsubishi Evolution X (whenever its out) and the Subaru Imprezza WRX STi.

tjallu the only car that comes to my mind would ber the BMW M5. you could also look into the new C class sports, RS4, lexus. if an SUV then the porsche cayanne, audi Q7.

Go with the M5. Its a sedate cruiser when you want and a scary rocket when you really nail it. Makes you forget that you are actually driving a four door saloon. Other M5 owners on the forum will also be able to help you out.

BMW M5 ....the best there is if ,one is tech savvy, but for only driving pleasure.. RS4..... both are fantastic cars....

I would also suggest the Mercedes AMG E63. You said your uncle wanted a sporty car. The BMW M5 maybe the better out of the two for pure thrills, but on a more sedate day-to-day drive, the AMG E63 maybe the better of the two?

Thanks alot for the huge response. From what i understand the two best options are the RS4 and the BMW M5. I've broken it down:

RS4: V8, 4.2 with roughly 420bhp. That gets it to 100 in just under 5
Price: BASE $69,000

M5: V10, 5.0 with roughly 500bhp. That gets it to 100 in just 4.5
Price: BASE $82,000

I need a bit more 'detailed' advice. On paper the M5 is definitely better but its quite a lot more expensive. And just to make it a bit more tricky i was just taking a look at the C63 AMG which has about the same price and speed as the M5.

HELP! I have to give him my final decision in 5 days.

tjallu the C63 amg is around the same price and speed as the M5. what it lacks is the interior space of the M5. i am sure comfort would also play a major role if you are spending that kind of money. trust me an M5 is worth every penny.

Is he a single chap, does he plan to use the car on a daily basis, manual / automatic, etc. etc.?

I'm going to add the Audi S6 to the list.

Also, I'm sure you're aware that the prices are base prices - options will take them to a different level.

Your uncle is not looking for outright perfomance car
Wants a car with a bit of luxury
The above said car should also drive well.

Maserati Quattroporte ?(May overshoot the budget a bit but with my limited knowledge I think its tailor made for a person who is mature+Classy+sporty .

Am a BMW fan so am also including M5.

Might I suggest what size car you want first?
You can't compare a Audi RS4 with a BMW M5.
Audi RS4 vs AMG C63 vs BMW M3 (Not available in saloon).
Audi RS6 vs AMG E63 vs BMW M5

There are other more exclusive cars that might fit the bill (subject to prices in local market)
Maserati Quattroporte
Alpina B5
Jaguar XF/XJ
