Post Upgrading from Toyota Camry?

Price range 18-24 Lakhs. Comfort is the priority. Mostly chauffeur driven.

So what would be a logical upgrade for a Camry user?

Accord, New Camry, Teana, Passat, Superb?

Does it HAVE to be a car (saloon)? If not there's the Chevy Captiva.

Outright rear seat comfort - Superb, nothing comes close.
Almost as comfy but fresher with a petrol heart - New Camry
Blend of both - Passat

Although i think only the Superb will fit this budget... the other two would be 3-4 lakhs more otr

Okay then I think this makes sense, since it has a 3 to 3.5 lakh discount:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/what-c...tml#post702207 (AUDI A4 or BMW 320I Edit: Bought A4 2.0 TDi)

Apologies - those are ex-showroom prices so we're back to square one. I give up - cannot really recommend the Superb as its an old car. Better get the Passat or a new Camry.

A4 actually crossed my mind, but how is the interiors and the space factor?

Price can be stretched if absolutely required

Are these the same models as overseas? If yes, and VW gives you a good comprehensive warranty and you dont intend to drive the car into the ground then Passat. They more car for the money than the Camry for sure and fun to drive.

Default New Camry or Accord. No VW

Hi jaggu,
The current A4 is going to be changed with the new A4 due for launch later this year.
A4 is around the size of Corolla or Civic(slightly larger).
Toyota is probably more solidly built to last as compared to VW.
Wait for the new Honda Accord but I am not a fan of how it looks.Would only recommend the new Accord to anyone who is looking for a V6 engine hehe.

Also see the Nissan Teana and take a test drive yourself to see what you like best.

If it has to be chauffeur driven then my choices would be either the Teana (bad service network though) or the Superb. I think out of the listed choices the best/most comfortable ride would be either the Teana (with loads of room at the back) or the Superb.

Space is reasonable and interiors are top-notch. However the comfort factor may not be there - Audis are stiffly sprung as a rule and while this makes them sharp handling, they have a harsh ride. With my bad back, I cannot stand the Audi ride. I'm talking about the A6 here which I have driven extensively, but most of the Audis I've driven are similarly sprung.

Ricky who bought one recently may be able to comment better on the A4 sold in India.

the superb sounds like your best bet. if you have a option of stretching your budget then the diesel audi a4 fits your requirements.

there was news about new versions of the accord and the superb being launched in india. you could check that out too.

Point noted Steer, good news is the owner is an enthusiastic driver although he rarely takes the steering.

Superb, isnt it too confusing a shape, with skoda family similarities? hence image issues.

why not wait for the NEW ACCORD to be launched ?
the one which was displayed at the autoexpo looked bigger than the existing accord.. so im assuming it has more space inside - maybe on par with camry...

image is taken care of since its HONDA...
has anyone experienced this car in India or abroad ?
