| Team-BHP Moderator ![]() | New octavia II will cost about 14-15lac. Also with skoda's history it may come in 2007 only. So if you are looking at a 12-25L on road you have a lot of choices Accord, Mercedes, octavia, superb, terracan, tuscon etc., etc., The question is what do you want. Diesel/petrol, performance, comfort, snob value etc., etc., So specify what you are looking for.

| The Octavia 2 will be alongside the current Octavias (Why?). The issue of the rear leg room has been addressed without compromising much on the bedroom at the back. Also comes with pumpe-duss engine! No idea bout the accessories/options/variants. Plenty of choice in the 25L budget. Why don't you narrow down your choices a bit? |

| Thanks for the reply .I will be giving my RS to my family friend end of the year. I love Mercedes C- Class but it’s a CEOs car. As a staff I cannot take C-Class to my office. I like to have a brand new performance Petrol car (Not modified) Is the Nissan ZR in India???? If so how much they cost?? Is the opel Vectra is good??? Reg 1.8 Lancer I dropped my idea because not enough knowledge. |

| Dunno why u guys are suggesting Civics and Octavias to him as his budget is looking at a higher segment. As of now i can think of the C-class(Prestige), Skoda Superb(Less on prestige as it looks too damn similar to its younger brother but its sheer value for money) and maybe the v6 accord if you wanna save up that extra cash. As for 2006 i am not sure what they have lined up but you can keep ur fingers crossed for the BMW 3 series and Audi A4 to fall into your budget. If a new model of Skoda superb comes out that would be a treat too...lets keep our finger crossed....I need to get rid of my C-class too but dont see much of choice for me at the moment, dont mind streching my budget but the only one that fits the bill is the E-class and i wouldnt wanna get a merc again so i am hoping something better comes up soon. Prestige,comfort/space,sedan are the main criteria for my dads car so there doesnt seem to be much choice at the moment besides the mercs and the superb.

| Well abroad they cost around the same price range as the C-class so i am guess when they are launched here they would have to compete around your budget. A4 is a little cheaper than the 3 series and C-class abroad but it will take a whlie before Audi starts manufacturing in India so even if they do launch the A4 it will be higher than that C or 3 becuase of the import duty. As for BMW they are setting up an assembly line in south India already hopefully should start next year i am guessing.

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | A4 or 3 series, of which the A4 is a better car. You should be able to pick it up from BMW or Audi importers...check with Nissan importers or 'dealerships' as they are called. There are plenty of other choices with that kind of money. Dont waste your time with Skodas or Accords.

| BHPian | if ur budget is Rs.25 lk, then best is to go for the NISSAN XTRAIL..there are 2 models in it, and the cheaper model will be within 25lk onroad to u. else, a good buy would be a BMW 3 Series, but that might cross your budget a bit, think it wud land up somewhere around Rs. 26-27lk, as such, if u want sheer Comfort, and good driving, the Toyota Camry is quiet good, and the price justifies when u compare it with the Accord, it is more spacious and lengthier than the Accord, and has more luxurious interiors. |

| Senior - BHPian | Since you cannot take a C-Class, and since you want a performance car, why not consider the accord V6? The BMW 3 series and Audi A4 have not yet been launched and will take some time like say mid 2006 - early 2007 as they have to be homologated. Skoda Superb isn't much of a drivers car and neither is camry. How about the Mondeo for 10L less? Hey sahil, why not consider the A6 and 5 series. They are available with adequate back up.

| I would say Nissan X-Trail or an A4 or 3 series when they are released. BTW, I had a spin with my colleague's Forrester yesterday and I am still drooling over the experience. A wonderful car! Actually, you can even think of a Forrester and have all that extra money to pay for its petrol. It is worth every penny ![]()
