Hello all

My heartfelt apologies for not keeping this topic updated. I really am extremely sorry. Had been busy with preparing for the Mughal Road Rally and running around for my admissions. Just came back from Kashmir yesterday and here is the update . Plus the car has not been working since the past 2+ weeks.

As mentioned earlier there was rattling in the car. Did not pay much attention to it and waited for engineers to visit and check it up. After a few days there was a '" kut kut kut kut kut kut " sound from the engine while idling. After Mr. Leela came to personally check it, he identified it to be a problem with the hydraulic lifter.

The car was stationary since then. Yesterday I took for a small drive and when I came back I saw oil under the car. Upon opening up the bonnet and to my utter shock there was a huge oil spray in the right side of the engine compartment. I called up Mr. Leela and the engineers are on their way to fix it. Lets hope its up and running soon. They will be here thursday morning.

If you want I can upload the pics of the oil spill and once again sorry for not updating this everyone. I m back and this post will be back in action

can you post a pic of the oil spray? could be oil out of the BOV. Check oil level.

Well now - that is surely a disappointment. But the brighter side is RRP is sending engineers all the way from Bangalore to sort out the issue. That is a first !!

There was obviously some loose nut somewhere, which gradually loosened up more & more till the kut kut kut sound was audible to you.

Keep us updated.

Cheers

by the looks i think the oil is leaking out of the bov(by the angle which it is flowing down the pipe). any smoke? check the oil whether it's above the top mark. I maintain it below the top mark.

Was the lifter replaced after it was shown as having a problem?

How is the oil return/feed line routed to the turbo? Did the oil pressure go down while driving?

there is too much oil than BOV can throw out. tak tak tak cannot be knocking at idling rpm. don't drive the car. wait till they figure it out.

If there was a leakage from the beginning, there is a possibility that the oil level dropped and thats why the lifter started making a noise.I think with correct oil level it should be just fine.
Brand new engine wont have a faulty lifter.
Where is the oil leaking from ?

Is the tuk tuk noise on idle during cold start or even when the temperature is normal. If it's during cold start, it could be one of the hydraulic tappets. Once the oil reaches tappet properly. The sound goes off? Have seen couple of examples of same.

As Amey said, it's difficult that the lifter gives away in a brand new engine.

In between, was the car on a new upgraded gasket or was it stock. Don't think the stock one can hold 14 psi. I think it will be new but still?

Hey

The kut kut is on idling IRRESPECTIVE of the temperature. It consistent at even high temperature. The oil leak is not from the BOV because the BOV cant spray oil and even if it does, the oil cant come on the air filter. Even if it comes on the air filter ,it cant come on the joint from where the filter is connect to the pipe

the pistons and con rods were changed.

No the lifter was not replaced till now. I dont have an oil pressure gauge to check

The engineers will be here tomorrow and will spend as much time require and will make sure the car is fine. Mr. Leela will also come to check it.

Amey : I dont think there was a leakage in the beginning because the oil level was just fine in the dip stick and mr . leela himself checked it. so that cant be an issue.

The oil is below the first mark. there was a lot of oil spill. but before spill it was just at the second mark. And no smoke

If theres too much oil and the oil can't drain quickly enough, it will come through the oil seals and into the plumbing. Then it comes out of the Bov ..

I know that buddy, why would that happen ? The oil pump is the same, oil level was kept correct, then why ?
