A K&N replacement(if available) or get an Ractive uniersal freeflow air filter.
I've fixed one in my Sumo. She roars..and gives the scares to all the others at the signals.

I was wondering why a marina if budget is not an issue. Well you have answered that.
About the mods, there is not much you can do to the engine. For some increase in HP

1. K&N filter
2. Exaust, but it will give horrible noise and give you maybe little more bhp
3. Turbo modifications for higher pressure, but may kill engine life.

ECU remapping is not going to be very useful as TATA is already trying to extract every last horse from the engine.

There is one other thing you can do, but only if you plan to keep it for 50000kms+. Try getting a bosch fuel pump, the likes of which you get in sumo's. It costs 30000 odd, but much better than the lucas TVS junk. If you can find one off an accidental sumo with intact fuel pump you can get it for as less as 2000rs and then spend another 7K on the overhaul(Fuel pump).

With a K&N filter, a free flow exause you can bump up the power to around 75bhp and the Fuel pump will give you 5% more.

You will feel most of the benefits on highway as the engine can rev to 5500rpm, which is quite high for a diesel engine..

I have a marina as well, and for 8000 more they had a version with an inbuilt intercooler with the turbo charger, supposedly it gives the car some bhp boost. Although i dont know if its true !?
When i bought it 6 months back only the marina came with a turbo now the indica does too!!

i have done my car 40000ks in 1year and i think the turbo responds quite good if u use it properly that car can just whipppass when it is driven around 2500to3500rpm but as a city car it is surely a let down in terms of fuel economy and gearshift . but on the highway u can o everything with it

Hey tsk, was just wondering, would this have any other/adverse effects on the engine as such; in terms of engine life, fuel economy etc.? Sorry to bump up an old thread but thought it might be better than opening a new one, would really appreciate it if you can throw some light on this. Thanks.

As long as you can find an expert who can do this, there should be no side effects

K, thanks man, would you have any idea what I'm looking for if someone asks me to get 'the boss pump' serviced?
