Stage1 solution for all cars:

100/90 bulbs fitted with relay and aftermarket-bakelite sockets.

Caution: This may void ur warranty if car is still in Warranty period.

well i dunno abt the versa but for my esteem i did get a set of philip rally 130/100W..... reallllllly awesome lighting..... the beam spread and the brightness is phenomenal....

last weekend i had to drive back to blore and it was way past 8pm.... i wasnt very confident as i had rarely driven in the night on the highways.... i used to totally avoid night driving mainly due to the eye strain from oncoming trucks.....

but after these bulbs???

the drive was just way too easy... 140kmph on the pitch dark highway and i was so composed.... (had slept for 3 hrs the night before so was very nervous of falling asleep or going into a trance due to the oncoming headlights... )

so i suggest get the philips rally 130/100W and u wont regret it....

Aditya buddy... at the cost of going a bit OT I would still say that was one heck of a risk you took. Indian highways are really wretched for night driving at the best of times (partly due to the roads, more due to the zombies who "fly" on them), rallye or no rallye. And you were lacking sleep on top of that!
