What can I say!! I used to own a 1000 and was quite happy with it. However the body work requirements just got to me and I finally got rid of it.
Was it just me or are maruti cars more prone to rusting?

Sorry bro... I do not have the answers but a question instead.
How has been your ownership experience with a1000. Have you bought it used or are you the original owner?
The rusting problems killed me. Overall the car is alright and the maintainence costs are really cheap. So I guess it makes sense to keep it.

Go down to Milan Subway if you're in the suburbs, or Opera House if you're in town. You should get what you're looking for.

You can go from shop to shop to see what you want as well as it's price.

thats a great swift u have got there arush. So did u modify the 100 that u were talking abt, if so do u have pics of ur work...sorry for going off the topic..just curious...

back to the topic...can the experts here comment on the bad sides of a steering replacement...like wud the indicators and other levers work normally...and does a standard adaptor fit all cars...

i am particularly interested in replacing the steering wheels on my Palio D.

Thanks basil... you could replace the steering wheel on your palio but you would require a bosskit for a fiat which is essentiall the hub which matches the thread on either side. Its commonly available for mitsus and hondas but slightly doubtful about fiat (unless it matches one of the jap manufacturers) And no it would not interfere with your indicators and other levers.

OT: Here is the 1000 i was talkin about..

Thanks Arush. Saw that thread, I guess that was one of your first mods...things look much different for you these days, I mean I am amazed with the kind of mods you do..Keep up the good work.

regarding my steering wheel replacement. I am now in Manila and plan to buy the steering here at Blade Sports. I think I am getting it at a good price. I am also planning to buy the adapter (hub) here, and hope it fits. If it doesnt maybe a little lathe work would make it fit. Hope so.

Anyone who has tried to replace the stock steering wheels on Palio, please raise your hands...I need help here..
