I am thinking of adding racing stripes to my old Sea Grey colored Ford Figo TDCi Titanium, as mark of completing 50,000 Kms , next month.

About Vinyl Wraps-img_20170409_154010.jpg

Out of the two types shown below, which one would look good on the Figo?

I personally like the offset one over the symmetric one.

Below are some cool cars, with offset racing stripes.

Being dark grey, what other colors of racing stripes will suit my car ? I had earlier done red custom GT racing stripe on the bonnet alone, from Autographix (Image attached below) ,which I removed a while back. Now I am having orange and deep blue in mind. Just plain stripes.

Are these racing stripes available in 3M or what other good brands would you recommend ?

Thanks

Love and Live to Drive !!

Since this is personal i would say both are hideous for Figo. Figo does not have that aggressive look to carry of this stripe design nor its a cute car like a mini to get away with this design.

You are better off to say get a complete roof vinyl cover or the cameo design that is going around the town.

Stripes on figo is not really attractive IMHO.

Disagree. I have seen a few figos with offset stripes and they looked quite cool, way more attractive than abarth punto with stripes.

I think the offset stripes would look better here.

Be selective about what width of stripes you choose, as that will make a big difference to the final outcome.

What colour will the stripes be?

Thank you Rehaanji.

I think width of about 5"-6" would be apt. Anything above 6" will look gaudy IMHO.

Regarding colours I personally like orange, red and dark blue. Neon colours and white will look too bright, hence don't prefer. I am also in for shiny grey, a shade or two lighter than the car, since it would look subtle as well as classy.

There are a lot of colours and shades possible though, depending on availability. Don't know where to look for. May be I should visit Coimbatore or Chennai.

+1 for the offset stripes.

Red would go well with the grey background. It's a contrasting shade. Even yellow would but that would stand out like neon!

Have a look at this thread from a BHPian - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...lo-gt-tsi.html (Ritu - My 2014 VW Polo GT TSI)

He has got it done very nicely.

A 3M outlet will do it for you.

Take it to Dhana Stickers. The kid does wonderful job and has amazing creativity when it comes to stickers and wraps.

He is at Porur and a drive to chennai starting at 6Am should suffice you to get the job done and drive back by night.

I highly recommend him over 3M simply because this kid knows how to design in the computer and he can suggest ideas as well.

Nice... though for some reason I find it more aesthetically pleasing when the thinner stripe is on the outside (as opposed to closer to the center of the car).

Was casually going through this thread and chanced upon this. I was planning to get my Liva striped and was looking for a good stickerist. I stay at Ramapuram and Porur is pretty close for me. Where exactly he is in Porur?

I like it the same way exactly! Thin stripe on the outside and more offset towards the left or right, than towards the center. Also the gap between the wider stripe and the thinner stripe is way too much on the stickering done on the Polo. Matter of personal choice though. I wonder if something could be printed on the stripe like a name or something, like the one below.

Its right after the chennai bypass road (from Tambaram) meeting the vellore-Chennai road. Once you cross the butterfly flyover towards chennai the shop is in the left right next to first signal. There is a juice shop next to it.

Spotted this Tastefully Modified Tata Hexa at BIEC (Bangalore International Exhibition Center) today morning.

About Vinyl Wraps-img_20171008_231638.jpg

This car was parked in the parking lot. While at first glance, my immediate reaction was, A Hexa. But wait, this color made me to have a second glance.

As I saw it in flesh, the color looked Terrific. It looked different in various lighting conditions. The shade area looked very matte like. Pictures don't do justice to what a naked eye can see.

It also had a Jaguar Badge at front and a V6 badge at rear. Visible in snaps.

Now a question to Experts,

Is this a paint ? Or a Wrap ?.

Sorry I didn't touch and get a feel of it. (I hate touching others cars unless it is of a known person). I have seen cars being wrapped. But this was a touch above that. Finish was Top Class to say the least.

Hi, I know Tata owns Jaguar, but ya this is kinda funny .

Looks like a very nicely executed wrap. Luckily Hexa has got a lot of side mouldings/Skirts. So wouldn't be difficult to get a good finish and tuck the remains under the mouldings or yeah might be a wrapping guy who knows his job (credits given to the person who deserves it). I guess this shade would be some Satin Blue Matte Finish.

Hello Guys,

Any ideas to get some stripes on my Carbon Steel Rapid? She's called the "Nightfury"
Also, any recommended places where I can get the make up done for her?

Thanks
Ashwin
