I think Stanley would be the best.

Are you scrapping the Baleno and taking your Dad's E220?

I am confused about this leather thing. From what I understand, there are two ways of doing up the interiors in leather.

One is to put leather seat covers and the other is to remove the seats from the car and upholster the seats with leather, am I right in this understanding?

If so, which is better? From the looks of it, upholstering the seats in leather would be better as it would give a near factory fit and finish right?

Does Stanley have removable geniune leather seat covers? I was quoted Rs.4500 for "genuine stanley leather" for my SX4. Isn't something wrong with this price? Does anyone know of a genuine stanley leather dealer in Chembur/Navi Mumbai area?

Can't be genuine leather, leave alone Stanley. This must be Art Leather stuff.

Amit - A good set of leather upholstery including door pads costs around 24-28k (starting range) while Stanley can easily go up to 50k or more. I believe their starting range is around 32k or so.

Absolutely.

You can save some money by opting for leather for just the seating area (as in the middle patch) and have art leather on the sides that can match or contrast for better appeal. Stanley in Bangalore (Mission road) had quoted about 18-20k for that while Stanley in Hyderabad (Somajiguda) quoted about 2-3k more than that. I guess it all depends on what you choose.

By the way, at 4.5k it is difficult to get good G-sport ones, forget the Stanley - looks fake to me.

hey speedy, could you find you what it owuld cost for them to redo the front seats on my RS. in fact only the base needs to be redone. the seat backs are fine.

in fact the part of my seats that seems to have the most wear is the center non-lether section.

this version looks like the center is also leather.

They have three types of leather, Nappa being the most expensive. The least cost one, they quoted 20K for Baleno (seats, side trims, gear knob, hand brake etc) with leather on the areas which are in touch with human body(seating area) and art leather on other areas(like behind the seat). 24 K for full leather of the same quality. Nappa was 40K for full leather.

Thats pretty good. So a mid-range Stanley for the SX4 should be cheaper.

Their website is pretty useless. Hardly any products are shown and no contact details of authorised dealers. I also sent their worli showroom an email but no response yet. Could you find out Stanley dealers around Chembur/navi Mumbai area and PM me please?
