Default Why nameplates on Wagon-R front bumper is not placed in Mid

Hi,

I'd one doubt in my mind whenever I see an Wagon-R. Most of the wagon R I saw, their number plates are fixed on either right side or left side but not in middle on the bumper.

Any specific reason for this?

If it is blocking the radiator of Wagon-R, then itsn't it a bad design of Wagon-R's front bumper?

Cheers,
Gudda

Why do we have a side parting when we comb out hair ?

Back to topic, a number plate does block air to the radiator but symmetry prevails. In Japan, the number plates are more squarish, thus blocking a larger area of a smaller car - hence the side placement

BTW - ever looked at an Alfa 156 number plate - this is also side placed for styling purposes

Japanese Wagon-Rs also come with a turbo-intercooled block. The intercooler placement could necessitate this.

It is just to break the monotony of the design. Try having a look at the Wagon-R with no number plate and you shall realize, that it does help the car to look presentable.

On the EVO6 the number plate is off to the side as well.....but that is so that it doesnt cover the intercooler (or radiator), or the oil cooler air intake on the other side.

There are some specifications on Number plate itself (though not followed religiously) but probably there are no specification on where to place it on vehicle.

Old WagonR probably did succeed in breaking the monotony. I kind of like it.

i think the square number plate offset to one side looks really cool keeping in view the overall squarish nature of the vehicle.

yes ! i didnt notice the change in looks when i just had the number plates fitted yesterday. I really liked the tough looking-same colored bumber (black) without the plates....... points scored down for that

There is a law. But all that the policeman needs is the no. plate and the matter printed on the plate should be visible. Hence they do not mind whether it is in centre or slightly right or left side.

The number plate in wagon-R is not placed in the middle is because it conveys this messsage to all the people that wagon -R is such a car which matches with everyones life and can help people with their daily ups and downs. As in our life is not balanced so as in the car.......not balanced as well. dats the main reason why the number placed in not balancced at the centre.

The size and/or position of the number plate can change a car's appearance more than one may imagine. Consider the Ambys and Fiats that sport a "long" plate at the back instead of the standard square design their rears look radically different! Which reminds me, it seems to have been a practice earlier to have the long plate in the front and square at the rear, though today many models don't follow this "rule".
