I'd recommend these in either 16 or 17 with 205 section-
From my limited experience, nothing comes close to Stock / OEM alloys on safety and reliability front. Heard horror stories of Rims breaking and cracking at high speeds - esp in roads like our where you dont know what pot hole turns up the next day !

However, Rim upgrade might come sometime later (when i can afford a Borbet or a BBS).

Infact the best thing about this mod job is that - every product added is Original Equipment Manufacturers (Except say, the Horn)
The Projectors, Fogs, Badges, Leathers are all OEM. Even the Paint is "Magic Black" From Laura

Handling was anyway scary even with Stock map. Remap makes it even more scarier - But nothing majorly worrying if we use a little 'common sense' while cornering.
Braking is one of the best i ve seen on cars, this side of 12L. A tyre upgrade should compliment the braking in a very positive way.

No vibrations at any speed. The Car actually a lot smoother, more eager to revv and quite fantastic to drive even after 3500 rpm.

Congrats Mi10, unfortunately you cannot change your handle But you make us envy having two remaped cars in your garage. Is the smoking still prevalent in 3rd & 4th gear after your final tune?

Ha Ha ! Lived with the i10 for some 10 months before selling it off

Nope, this map is as good as Stock when it comes to smoke.

The Other remapped Car - Fiesta is waiting for its big break which includes;
Stage 2 Cams
Free Flow Exhaust
Revised Air Intake (Like RAM)
Stage 2 Remap

Hopefully it should all fall in place in couple of months. Will sure open a Thread for that.
Even in its current form, the Fiesta hits 0-100 in 10.6 secs. with a top whack of 181.6 on GPS. That said, the beauty of this lies in its ability to take higher speed through corners

0 to 100 in 9.1 sec, wow, you must be doing some serious mods under that hood of yours. so whats the stock timings and is there anything else pending in the under the hood performance mods

Stock timings as measured on Vbox are: 10.48 sec.
All tests were in Bangalore which is very high above Sea level. Similar runs in Chennai would probably get better timings.

There are few other items lined up on cosmetic front for now

Meanwhile enjoy some newly shot pics;

I personally prefer keeping cars bone stock and probably will not have the guts to do even the most minor of mods. But yours & kryptonite's threads exhilarates me about the capabilities of my daily ride.

For the effort and dedication The car looks like a beast now after all those tasteful mods. You can however, get rid of the badges. It will, IMO look even better.

The car looks awesome. Mods have given a sheer aggresiveness to the white colour. gr8 work dude. Njoy your R(apid)ide.

Congratulations Mi10 !!!

Sensible chipping there... guess you wanted to have a clean and modest look and so chose the all White-Black colour, which goes incredibly well..

I would have loved to see an air intake scoop on the hood, a decent venting for showing off a glimpse of the extra power, and still go with the looks ++ cold air for cooling the engine

I believe you would have a better fuel economy as well, do update us on it. Does your insurer knows about the remap (not sure on their conditions/clauses on ECU remapping)

Congratulations Mi10.

Very tastefully done cosmetic mods; nothing over the top or disappointing.

The power sounds impressive. I'm sure there are others on the road who are shocked when you suddenly take off.

That's on of the best looking Rapid I have ever seen.
Great taste you got there.
No over the top cosmetic mods but giving it an attitude. Awesome.
Effect use of the stock alloys.
The black paint sure increased the appeal but still deserves a better wheels and tires.
The amount of money went into the car is steep. Lucky you.
By the way how much was the on road price of the car? From Gurudev Chennai.
How was your experience and still is? Do you expect any warranty issues on mods done so far?
I am contemplating the VFM Rapid for sometime now.

What about your ICE ? any changes. With all the research on spares it you come across and option for steering mounted audio control?

Why did you opt for painting the roof than just a vinyl wrap?
Where did you get the painting done?
The black grill and the VRS sweet.

I wish I could see you car in person to fall in love with the rapid a bit more to actually make the buy.

Thanks for sharing this well done job. Still your engine tuning and stuff is Greek and Latin to me. Trying to keep up.
Hope to see regular updates here.

Thanks. When i brought it, the OTR price was 10.85 L (This is the Prestige Edition)
The Car is yet to face its first service, from a Sales only Perspective, i liked Gurudev's Approach. The Response was Prompt and Timely. Overall Saes Experience was 9/10.
True. The Rapid is real VFM considering the fact that, its counterpart is selling at 50k more !

ICE for now takes a Back seat. the Steering controls can be done - Just that i dont prefer Buttons in my steering wheel. I like it plain and simple

Vinyl Wrap is a pain to maintain, esp when one is in a place where Sparrows and Crows visit you often. The Vinyls are easily damaged by Claws, or an sharp objects. Unlike Paint, you cannot the vinyl for small areas (Yes, it can be done, but difference in colors over a period of time would look bad).

I did the painting in Privilege Moto mall, Nandanam, Chennai.

One another reason the price of mods is steep is cos everything is OEM make including the Grills and Badges.
