Default Re: Query about a Car Compass

Here is a simple liquid based Car Compass made of Rubber and Plastic, which has been with us since 1969.

It used to adorn the old Fiat 1100's dashboard, then moved to the Amby Mark2 in 1974. Stayed there till 1999 when we sold that car and it then moved to the first Esteem and then the second Esteem and then the Tata Indica. It is only in 2014 that my Dad gave it to me because there was no surface on his I20 which could support it.

It works on a simple rubber suction cup mount.

The Directional Compass works perfectly even today - it is older than I am.

So, I really don't agree that all these liquid compasses are cheap Chinese Toys...I have no idea where this one came from, but it may well have been bought in England, since nothing of this kind may have been available in India at the time...
