Absolutely correct. You lower the window to the bottom level of the visor so that the fresh cool air with that lovely muddy smell of the first rain wafts in and you enjoy cruising without having to roll up your window and switching on the AC to keep mist forming on the windscreen..:-)

Hi,

There are 2 other uses which are very important as well.

1> For smokers to blow their smoke out of the car and leave the aircon on.
2> To vent the windows when parked in the sun so that there is no heat build up in the car and your interior does not get baked.

As a longtime smoker (16+ years) I do the following:
1. Stop people from smoking in your car when the aircon is on, irrespective of whether the vents are on fresh air or recirculated.
2. Avoid having fabric seats (leather/vinyl is great).

If the smell's already there:
1. Start your car & turn the blower on full.
2. Hit your a/c button.
3. Switch mode to 'fresh air'.
4. Drive around for at least 10 min with all the windows all the way down & the a/c on as above.
5. Take your car for a full interior service with the service station's air hoses blowing down your vents.
6. Get your seats & carpets washed out with soap & water, then thoroughly dried in the sun.
7. Attatch an air freshener with a mild scent to the rear view mirror.

NEVER smoke in your car again.

This should solve your stinky smoky problem.

glad to know you're still alive and i thought i was going to die soon because of my smoke addiction.12+ yrs more to go....hooray.
all your suggestions require a lot of effort and patience.what do i do if in the first 10 min of driving around i smoke 2 cigs. all that effort gone to waste.

Simple then. Do all that I've said above.

After that, don't have the aircon on when you smoke, & keep two windows down for cross ventilation. That should take care of it.

!!! QUIT SMOKING WHILE YOU CAN !!!

It might be simpler to NOT SMOKE inside the car, but then its your car and therefore your prerogative.

Most of the cars/vehicles that I've seen with visors have them visors broken around the edges. Is it a very flimsy thingamajig? And to fix this visors do they screw it in or just stick to the windows? And once if this contraption is fitted, does it have to replaced every time it breaks? (If you dont, would you be seeing marks of the previous visor?)

and its enables one to keep their windows down during a drizzle without the rain drops coming in.
