Have a LS Magnum Diesel and want to upgrade the headlight bulbs. But without changing the wiring or installing any relays. Need it for a City + Highway combination. Can you suggest and if possible a place to buy in Gurgaon or South Delhi.

Try sourcing Philips Xtreme Power. They are 55/60 with 80% more lighting i.e. you'll need not to change any wiring or relay. New Optra Headlights are H4 i think.

Whats the wattage on the diamond vision? will it melt the angel eyes?

I'm basically looking for an option that will make the high beams comparable to the HIDs without causing any damage to the setup. I'm currently on osram nightbreakers. I think they are 55w
Diamond vision are 55/60 and will not melt angel eyes anyways. Diamond vision is the only effective option to give HID like effect, but beware light throw of diamond vision ain't that good. It is more or less same as regular 55/60 wattage bulbs.

Hi How much did you pay for the lights.
I recently had the lights changed , but am not very happy with the high beam throw. I own honda city. any suggestion to improve the high beam throw?

The dealer informed me that there is no warranty given by Philips but he has given me a 1 year warranty (in writing on a proper bill which I got after paying 12.5% VAT) excluding the bulbs.

Would anyone have an idea as to :

a) How much would the bulbs cost in case they fuse?
b) In case GM refuses to align the lights, will the dealer (from whom I have bought it) be able to do it properly?

Also, is there a remote chance of the reflector (not the coupler) melting due to intense heat?

Vision Plus is yellow light. Recently upgraded to Vision Plus after using Crystal Vision for almost an year. They are great lights but I feel they are more directed towards the ground even on High beam. Maybe I need to get the headlights adjusted properly. Regarding if they are better than Night Breakers, maybe not, somebody else may like to comment.

I had Osram night breaker headlights. Today i noticed that left side low beam stopped working.
Does this mean that I have buy a new one? Or something wrong with wiring?
I bought it only in Aug 2008. I would say very low lifespan.

If I need to buy new one, planning to put 90/100 headlights on my Accent CRDi.
Do I have to put in extra relays? Would the current wiring be able to handle it?

What about halonix 90/100 in swift after installing relays? I am getting quotes of about 2k - which i know is high.

anyone got it done in gaon? prices?

Also what is the lifetime of reflector - i was warned that it may melt reflectors by Apra staff.

Both things are possible, check the bulb first, there are three wires connected to bulb, black one is of ground and then the other two are for low and high beam. Yellow is for low and blue is for high beam (may be different in some vehicle). Attach a multimeter (or a blub) to black and yellow and turn on the headlight on low beam, if multimeter show 12v (or bulb lights up) then wiring is ok.

Regarding Accent, yes you will need to attach relays to handle higher wattage bulb.

It's a damn good option to upgrade to that. I prefer Philips Rally over the Halonix +60 but then it depends on what you like.

Both bulbs will increase the light intensity, Rally is much brighter but then you compromise a bit on the throw, and vice versa for the Halonix.

Bulbs and kit will cost you not more than 1.1k with Philips Rally and .9k for Halonix.

There is a ROOTS kits for sale in the classifieds

Oh and yes, the reflectors will NOT melt. There are too many people here running a 100/90 set up on the swift.

wokay. thanks.

I will go for the bulb that has the maximum throw - even now, its throw which is why I'm considering upgrading - not brightness.

And thanks for the heads up, but i'll see. If you're running 100/90 without the kit, umm why would a swift need it?

Don't forget telling me BEFORE you do the upgrade. I am in two minds whether to do it or not. Might just tag along.

Try both bulbs to see how the Swift's reflectors respond.

I'm not running 100/90 without the kit. I already have a ROOTS wiring kit that used to come with bakelite holders. I bought this other kit only because it had ceramic holders and I wanted to upgrade to 100/130w. Was not sure if the bakelite holders would cope up with the heat (but now I believe they do).

Keeping in mind that my HL assemblies are brand new, I decided against 100/130 bulbs to avoid blackening them out right now. Will probably upgrade further after some more time.

However, the LED bulbs fused after a month and so did ballast of the left headlamp. As the HID kit was under warranty, i had the same replaced free of cost and changed the LED to ones of a better quality. After a little more than a month, the LEDs fused again and just yesterday the left headlamp failed. This time the bulb had fused. I had the bulb changed again under warranty.

The HID kit has not even completed 6 months but has failed twice already. The LED parking bulbs always seem to fuse but i never have an issue with regular white bulbs. Again, why does only the left ballast or bulb fuse? Ive asked the distributor the same and he claims that sometimes they have encountered multiple complaints with certain cars only, but otherwise the kits have worked perfectly. He however does not claim the kits to be faulty nor does he claim an issue with the electricals of the car.

Can anyone please help me with this issue? I am also planning to fit HIDs in my fogs but reconsidering due to these reliability issues.

Epic

Hey guys,

I need some help with the above.

The reason why I asked. sometime back, I had gone to a car accessory shop looking for upgrade. The person over there told me that, "you dont require extra relays and wires for Accent. Stock wiring in them could already handle the extra wattage". Hence I asked. So, you are saying that I MUST go for relays. right?

In that case check the existing headlight relay, there is only one relay to control both headlamps and there should be wattage mentioned on the relay. The realy should be atleast 200W to handle 90/100 bulbs.

These accesories shop people often don't have much technical knowledge, even a lower wattage relay will work but in long run it will melt and headlight will fail to work.
