Its Narva... Subsidary Company owned by Philips. I too heard the same, but unfortunately haven't tried the same yet.

Cheers

I desperately need your help. Today i had gone to Final Touch at Juhu, Mumbai an was on the verge of fitting HIDs for my Swift but had a couple of doubts so had to ask the gurus before i invest in the same: -

1. After going thru the auto lighting thread, the conclusion is that if HIDs are fitted without a projector headlamp assembly, they are illegal.

The guy at Final Touch claimed otherwise and even offered to give it to me in writting that they are legal in the normal headlight assembly. So im confused.

No such Law has been in-forced till yet, claiming projector headlamps necessary for usage of HIDs, but yes there are chances to get it in-forced.

2. I was still planning to fit the projector headlight assembly (INR 9000) for my car

Final Touch said that the results will not be as good as if installed normally. Im confused again!!

Initially what these assemblers tend to mean by "not a good result" is NO spreading of light, however, projector assembly is always a boon when fitted with HIDs as they project the light strength of HIDs rather then spreading the whole light strength.

3. Planning to fit HIDs for my fogs too.

Final Touch said that the results will not be as per my expecation as the lenses in the fogs are small and will not be as effective and will be just for show and a waste of money. He instead suggested i go in for Narva H8 bulbs of 4000K costing INR 950 a pair. And the confusion continues.....

I agree with the same

I do not remember the brand of the HIDs but they were not a well known brand. They were 6000K ad cost INR 13800/-. He also showed me 60/55 W Momo 4000K H4 bulbs for INR 2800/- a pair. Any idea if these are good?

I advice to go for a Branded one and ask for Warranty, rather then going for some Chinese/Taiwanese Stuff. Try BOSCH they are known for Value HID Kits, Try Philips HID Kit if you want to go for a High end Stuff.. At the end of the day i would suggest to "TRY AND BUY".

Kindly advise as to what is t be done. Im in no mood to spend a whopping 27K on HIDs if they are illegal and if i will be regularly troubled by cops.

Epic
I have putted up my suggestions in BOLD, Last but not the Least "Happy Lighting up"

Cheers

I have used the Narva 100/90
If you search through the thread I have posted comparison with Halonix +60 100/90.
Halonix blew the narva away as far as light intensity is concerned.

Sathya_nars..
I am also planning to upgrade my SX4 headlamps to 100/90. I just checked with one service person in showroom, he is telling that it may melt the headlamp holding. Are u facing any issue like that ? Which bulb u suggest, Philips rally 90/100 ?

When my CBZ extreme is handling philips crystal vision 60/55w , then why not SX4 can handle, make sure you install a good relay and proper wiring that will take care.

Well, I'm certainly not a guru but would advice that you get a relay and wiring harness fit. It would cost you approx 500 bucks for peace of mind, upto you to decide if it's worth it . You can also get ceramic holders but then I guess that wouldn't be necessary for 100/90, probably for 130/100.

You get special holders for bulbs like 100/90 & 130/100 that will not melt but the lense on the light will go dull if its made of plastic, glass will not have any problem.
