| Senior - BHPian | The h7 kit had been lying with my friend for ages and he needed to get rid of it so I exchanged it with him for a Sony 2 channel amp I had ![]() ![]() For an 8000k HID in the fog lamps this provides decent output when there is no external light interference. Im using this as my primary driving lights now, headlamps off. Is there a way for me to focus/adjust the fogs? Go for the projectors, speak to Jignesh (viper) he will assist you.

| BHPian | Wow! The output from those fogs do really good. On the other hand, for focussing of the fogs,I guess it's either preset and cannot be altered or maybe now adjustable by screw type but somewhere hidden deep in the fogs. You plan to focus it downward or upwards? cya A

| Senior - BHPian | Agreed, output is good enough for dark unlit roads and does not hit oncoming motorists. Though in rain, mist, fog these will be absolutely USELESS Its best to stick to 3000k or 4300k for fogs as they will give kickass visibility in those dicey situations. Epic you listening?Actual want to focus a little more to the left and maybe slightly down. But right now its fine as you can see. I use only the fogs 90%

| Guys, have been wanting to install HID's for the fogs(H8) of my SX4 and am really confused which brand to go in for. I came across various brands like Bosch (which is the cheapest of the lot, but most people say its fake). Then there is Autoguage, P4, Hall-W, Philips(only size available is H4), Eagle and a few others. The range starts from 5.5k for a 1 particular model of bosch and 8.5k for another type of bosch and the rest are around 10-12k mark with the exception of Philips which is for 20k (but then philips does not make a set in H8 which is my requirement) Now im really confused as to which brand to go in for and how do i know if its original or fake?? Will using a Bosch (which i believe is fake, as im told Bosch does not make HID's for the aftermarket) affect my car electricals in any way?? I would really appreciate some help here?? Reliability (Xenons and Car electricals), originality, performance and most importantly how do the Xenon kits from various brands out there stack up with each other. These are my prime concerns here. Existing HID users, kindly share your experiences here ![]() Lastly, there is an abundance of knowledge regarding which brands of halogen lights to go in for various requirements, but not soo much about Xenons in this wonderful thread. Would really appreciate some light being shed in this aspect as well. Cheers

| Just installed the Osram Night breaker Halogens bulbs in the projectors of the angel eye type head lights of the Swift.Very pleased with the results.Much better than the stock lights that the projectors came with.Better spread and throw.Cost was approx 1300 bucks from the Osram dealer ravi motors in mumbai. |

| BHPian | ^^^... ahh so these +50, + 80% have less life. hhmm... so what is the typical life of a bulb?!? BTW some time back i posted about my poor exp with xtreme. now after alignment of the head lamp, the performance is better. But still its about like 20 or 30 % more than the OEM "GE" branded bulbs on corsa.

Hey s0uljah, Quick question about your fog lamps. Do you have the stock Swift fog lamps (barring the bulbs of course)? Are these H7 type halogens originally? | |

| Senior - BHPian | Urgently need to upgrade my Alto headlamps. Yesterday i went on HIGHWAY and i was unable to see diversion sign on lot of places. Good that i visit that highway often so i remember places. Now currently i have DELA from OSRAM 60/55w and Halonix 60/55w lying with me. Halonix ones are MGA ones which i got 7 years ago with car. Now i want some lamps whose throw is like awesome. I should be able to see far and wide. Currently want to stick to 60/55 only and if nto satisfied will move onto 90/100 with relay. So gurus can tell me what options i have. lamps with white light will be preferred too ![]()

2. OEM = H8 Bulbs, Im using an h7 kit though. The H8 HID kit will be the best bet & safest. I recommend 3000-4300k for the best output and visibility. One good thing about the swift fog lamps is the design ensures minimum glare, mirror for oncoming motorists as compared to many other fogs that Iv seen. Brownie points for MUL ![]()

| Senior - BHPian | Thanks for the clarifications! I am thinking of using a more powerful H8 halogen (with a relay) in the fogs instead of an HID... maybe a 90/100 (what is the max wattage available in H8?). I think this will work too, from a functional perspective (not too worried about how it looks!). Has anyone tried this out? Last edited by razor4077 : 28th January 2008 at 19:39. |
