Upgrade to something like Osram +50 for main lights. No need of relay too since they are 60/55W
For your fogs put in Xenons.
This way they will not blind oncoming traffic, and cost will be close to 10,000

you can get xenons for even 6k. they will be much more effective than any 90/100w bulbs. but you will have to point them down so as not to blind any oncoming traffic.

Hi Tsk,
Based on your advice i changed over from Philips 100/90 to Halonix 100/90 + 60's.
Now my question is the fogs(LUMAX) on stock 55,can they be upgraded to 100, if so any additional relay needed?will the fogs withstand the higher wattage?Pls advice.

Depends on what kind of fogs you have.
Another factor is your alternator.
200W for main headlights and 200W for the fogs is like 400W for just lights, that comes approx 30A+

If you fogs are in bumper kind, you can go for Xenon(35W per bulb) and this will give you good light without blinding oncoming traffic.


Anyways how do you find halonix compared to philips?

Cost? Can I fit these on the Safari? Are they effective in our kind of fog?

My right fog lamp bulb blew yesterday so I need to replace it anyway

The Halonix definitely has a longer Throw but, I'm not very sure if the light intensity is better.

you can get xenons starting from about 6k. just get them in the right size and the pack will include everything you need for installation. look at 6000k temperature for the best brightness.

As you can see from my previous mail, I have installed Narva 90/100s for HL with relay. I assume the fog lamp bulb in a swift is H8. Can I upgrade those bulbs too without doing any harm to the alternator (only bulb no HID or reflector) ? If so is there any good brand available for H8 replacement? Will it do any good?

IT wont do much good.
Infact if you replace NARVA with some normal bulb(Philips ralley, Halonix +90, Osram Silverstar) you will get more light as the blue coating blocks light.

Since you have mentioned only silverstar here, shall I assume that vision+ gives whitish light. Or, silverstar is much better than vision+?
The bulb type on safari is H4. Am I right?

Actually 4300-5000k is the best when it comes to output/visibility/illumination, but then no one uses them in aftermarket kits.

6000k is your best combination for looks (white) and performance(visibility).

@Suman, HID mounted in halogen reflectors in the safari, your going to have a lot of oncoming traffic cursing you

Was quoted 8.5k for Bosch kit. And 11k for another one (it was a 3 letter name)

Chetta edhe vandi ?

Seems slightly expensive. Apparently there are different qualities of Bosch available (since it is all fake ultimately might as well buy the most commonly used one even if its cheap.)
