Hi Sahil,

We also have a BMW Titanium Silver and unfortunately, we haven't developed its color...fortunately, the need has not arrived yet ...touchwood !! Actually the Silver partical in BMW Silver is quite different than the other Cars and hence, we need to get a whole batch to develop the shade. The demand is not too much that the shade Can be specially manufactured. Let see!! if in sometime the shade can be developed.

[quote=pramodkumar;2094022]Sahil, my advise is not to use it on your car. these paints are just crappy, you can use it to paint your rims but not the body, painting your whole bumper outside A S S can be done within 3k but if you go DIY anyhow the paint has to be redone and then you will end up paying a lot more for the damage this paint does. I was running low on cash and my car had scratches and dents all around and so DIY way looked perfect, but the amount of labor doubled cause every time they apply body filler the paint will bubble, so a sincere advise stay away.

If you can afford to get your vehicle's scratched part painted everytime for not less than Rs. 3000.00 then please go ahead as Com-Paint can NEVER match the quality of Polyurethane Paints as Com-Paint is Acrylic Base Airdying Paint.

The DIY products are always user dependent that means how a product performs is in the control of the User. Airdrying Touchup Paint has its own advantages and disadvantages. One should not compare a 400 rupees DIY product to a professionally painted 3000 rupees job.

You need to apply rubbing compound after a day or 24 hrs of touchup to smoothen the surface. Regular maintainence of the touchup area is required by polishing it frequently. Why the touchup looks patchy is because the dust accumulates on the overspray (when not merged / rubbed properly) and the touchup looks like a patch.

Clear lacquer is available seperately on demand.

We are developing a new website and would put more touchup demos procedures, pictures of touchup processes of various colors for you to see and decide whether to do touchup or not.

Lastly, no company or painter will do touchup for you as they CANNOT match the color and they will tell you to get the whole part painted. If you have time and money to get it done that way, then please go ahead.

But if you follow the procedure and understand the technique, Com-Paint can be a good alternative for your touchup requirements.

PS: Com-Paint has been now recommended by M/S FIAT INDIA for touchup to all its service dealers.

Thanks,

Vikram Sharma

Com-Paint website doesn't have any shades for FIAT cars.
(It seems the list was updated in April 2009).

@Vikram - I bought the Garnet orange color for my Swift, thinking that it would be great to touch up the small scratches on the rear bumper. But when I applied it to a test area (my scraped front bumper), I was surprised to see the shade completely different than the original . The product is now lying wasted in my garage as a waste of money.

Its not true that a exact color match is impossible!!

It is definitely possible!! bodyshops paint whole panels just because they have to meet a specific revenue target set by the company or manager!!

Special color matching equipments are available - DuPont Refinish, Color Matching & Tools - Digital Solutions, ChromaVision® | DuPont Performance Coatings - appp21.asp.dupont.com

- R & E Paint Supply. 3M 16400, PPS Sun Gun Color Matching Light

These used by bodyshops/paintshops in US to obtain a perfect match to the OEM finish!

They even have IR paint curing lights to aid in the curing of the paint!

Bodyshops here are just lazy and want maximum profits without having to invest in proper training of the painters and state of the art equipment.

Let me ask you a question, have you ever asked a workshop or a local painter to do touchup? minor area!!! NO they will not here in India. Reason: Color Matching.

Most of the formulations written on the back of their shade chart are not perfect and requires visual tweaking.

Secondly, the multi angle spectrophotomer available for measuring metallic colors do not give suggestive formulations and hence are just for measuring color difference.

Default Ordered com-paint

Finally, I too had to do this. Got a couple of scratches which are hairline, but deep. Can't go to A.S.S since they will ask for an entire bumper re-paint done. I am not looking for a 100% accuracy here. So ordered com-paint, as I am pretty much sure of more scratches as I am daily travelling to and fro through the busy south over bridge in Kochi. Will try out as soon as I get it and update you with pics. Vikram, I've requested to include a clear lacquer spray also in my order. I have sent a mail to your ID too. Now, waiting for it to arrive.

Yes they do!!

Once while my car was being serviced, the service guys caused a few deep(primer deep) scratches on my rear bumper!!

They just refused to admit that they did that! But when I showed them the pics that I always take just after reaching the dealership(kinda like a insurance lol) they reluctantly agreed to correct it.

Since 80% of the bumper was totally ok, the painter just sanded down the affected area, > filled putty > primer > paint > clear coat .

And all this was done on a 6inch x 2inch area and the paint matching was also near perfect as I made them match the paint in full sunlight!!

Just called up Com Paint's Delhi office for an enquiry ..

The receptionist tried giving my enquiry to someone who refused to take my call.

She then told me that concerned person is unavailable and the office is closing so I should call back on Monday.

I asked for a mobile number, and she very rudely replied if you need to talk please call on the same number and hung up.

I am taking my business elsewhere...

Yes, the receptionist over there seems to be very rude to customers. I too had the same experience where I had to call one person over there regarding my order. In the first try, when I asked for the person, she just asked me to hold and heard talking to somebody. Then suddenly without saying anything, she hung up the phone. The same experience repeated for a couple more times, and in the third try only got connected to the person concerned, that too after multiple times of routing the call. Is this a govt. office or what?

She really is losing customers for the company. Little does she know I wasnt calling for 1 or 2 cans of paint but for an Industrial Application which will require about 70-80 Aerosols/Month minimum if successful.

I contacted another manufacturer in Mumbai today and got my work done...

I have posted this here for one simple reason, the owner should know whats going on in their company...

I hope Vikram is listening to this. If a buying experience is not that good, then the customer will of course search for other options. I haven't received my shipment, its still in transit. Hoping to receive it before this weekend. Between, could you share your experience with the other manufacturer here so that it may turn out helpful for others. For me, Aeroaids was the only option since I am from Kochi, and don't have any such dealers over here as far as I know.

Sorry, but your info is wrong. I've gotten a minor dent repaired twice, both from Auto Hangar. One of them was the rear door which was unintentionally opened real hard and caught a nasty dent on the edge. Auto Hangar said they'll do "spot painting" (or similar, don't remember the exact name), charged me 3 - 4K and repaired / repainted ONLY that small part of the door. It was only 5 cms in length and believe me, you'd be hard pressed to tell if that part was ever repainted.

Dear Friends,

I sincerely regret the inconvinience caused to you. The receptionist is a new recruit and needs to be taught some manners while taking call. I assure you that i shall personally look into the matter and take action.

There is a link on Com-Paint's website in contact us where you can escalate your complaint to me in case you are not satisfied with the service.

I am part of this group so that i can read your review and help you out in every possible way.

Vikram Sharma

Default Results of Com-Paint touch-up

Been some days that the casing of the Swift ORVM cracked, thanks to an Ace falling in love with it. Was making do with packing tape, until I finally replaced it yesterday.
Touch up paint tubes-mirror1.jpg

But then the mirrors come in black, and Swift ZXi has painted ones. Time to try out the can of Com-Paint (Maruti Crystal Gold) that I had managed to have my friend procure from the company's offices in North Delhi. (@Vikram, one complaint - it takes too long to deliver the goods - over 40 minutes. And the Metallic Metal Silver shade of the ANHC isn't available yet, either).

The mirror masked up, and first coat applied.
Touch up paint tubes-mirror2.jpg

Final result - yet to rub and polish, but shade match is good.

Only issue is, I've run out of paint, and my friend dreads the thought of going to Com-Paint's office to pick up some more supplies for me. Also, there's more than half the can of Com-Merge left over, but the company wouldn't sell the cans of colour individually without the value pack - and what would I do with so much of Com-Merge? Vikram, please help.
