Is it a camouflaged police car fitted with speed guns to catch vehicles from either side of the road?

I've seen (and been photographed once) such a camera, fitted in a normal looking street car parked along the roadside in Germany. The speeding ticket arrived at my doorsteps a week after.

clevermax if it is what you think it is, they did not do a good camouflaging job. i mean its so obvious. on seeing such a thing, i would slow down, stop and laugh at the drivers face..

+1 to that! In fact, I would stop and wave, laugh and even make funny faces at the camera!

@Akshay & @Suhas, when you are driving at 70 mph, you'll be looking more at the road than jump at the sight of a innocent looking regular Corolla. As your approach the car like that, your thoughts would be more about a possible break-down of that car, than about cops with speed guns.

A cam like that is possibly a clip-on camera.

Condor..

Quite true! But our statements were to be taken in a lighter sense! They were just jokes, Sir. We would otherwise wonder as to why it's parked by the side of the road rather than spot the camera on the boot!

That Fiesta.. err, isn't the best modification around. But better than some on this thread! The old gen Subaru Impreza WRX STi influence is quite apparent, the way the hood scoop has been designed! The finish isn't very inspiring either!

Hmm.. Imagine the car is parked perpendicular to the road, these can pass of as a spoiler in the eyes of a driver who is driving past. Anyway, if you are so vigilant, then you can very well spot this.

When my picture was taken in such a camera, I came to know about it only after the bright flash hit us. But I didn't see any device outside the car. I was just doing 57Kmph in a 30Kmph road in a small town near Garmish. Of course they will pass anyone driving up to a speed of about 45kmph even if the limit is set to 30. After that the penalty amount increases according to your speed.

This is one of the ugliest mod jobs i have ever seen.Especially the rear side is a big turn off.Dont know what he actually wanted to do in the rear side.why cant he sell his stock fiesta and buy a used lancer and do all kind of stuff with the bumpers and it will carry off nice as well.
