This is what is going into the car as the original Speedometer does not work with this motor. RPM, fuel, temp warning lights all work on the old one but no Speed, Odo or trip so am changing to the Type R tachometer to accommodate the extra revs and have everything functioning. Should be installed in the coming week. ![]() [img=http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/2725/newtyperspeedoxw1.th.jpg] Viper

| Senior - BHPian | Thanks to all for their comments and words of encouragement and of course a special mention to Karan to help me get the car on the road. You can expect to see the dyno charts by next weekend. Will put up the charts for both as is condition and after I am thru with the additional mods that I have planned for all to see. As of now need to run in my new clutch(Stage2 Carbon Kevlar) Will put up a whole bunch of work in progress pics next week. Viper

| I got the chance to take the Bhaiper Beast for a quick spin last night, thanks jigs. I didnt get a chance to look under the hood, but the install felt great. No vibrations, squeaks or shakes whatsover (other than the thump when you shift from 1st to 2nd at high RPM - which jiggy said is a flexpipe on the exhaust hitting the undercarriage due to the force of the acceleration, and will be fixed in place soon). The car is fairly loud at the moment, you could see people, cyclewallahs and dogs in the distance turning around to see what the hell was coming. lol. I believe the ehxaust will be changed again soon. The whir of the intake is quite loud as well! Theres a noticable change in the agression of the exhaust when the cams switch over, and the power delivery is fairly smooth and linear. It was a little hard to see the tacho due to the combination of accord seats and smaller steering wheel blocking the line of sight to the dash, but that will be changed sometime in the future. I hadnt ever sat in this car before, and the instant it moved a few inches i could feel the firmer suspension, however that didnt really stop the front from going skywards on hard acceleration! ![]() I didnt quite get the chance to really test the brakes as there were always cars in the rear view mirror. The stage 2 clutch was fairly hard to operate, and might be quite a workout in traffic, but it engaged very managably and smoothly, it wasnt difficult to get going at all. Really nice. The gearbox was the only thing that i struggled with a little, 1st and 2nd took a bit of caressing, and the short throw shifter and high seating position made it a little akward, but i think Viper is putting back the regular shift lever back on sometime next week. The in gear acceleration is superb, and the torque makes driving in 4th most of the time easy. A very managable daily driver, as i believe viper intends to use it everyday. I could only really give the car a good run in 1st, and once in 2nd due to the traffic and road conditions, and the power is smooth and neverending. The LSD does a great job during a spirited launch, and the Yokos did a good (and really quiet) job of stopping the wheelspin quickly during the upshifts. All in all a great setup, very tight and sensibly/patiently done. I'm really glad to see someone actually making the effort to take the car to the dyno and even using it for tuning / seeing relative gains (two dyno runs planned next week right?) Looking forward to seeing the other goodies added one by one over the next few months as well... cya R

You know you are welcome anytime. 1st to 2nd gear thump under hard acceleration fixed(flexi pipe removed). Removing short shifter either tomorrow or after I am back from Lonavala on Monday. 1st dyno run in the coming week once i have done at least 500kms(dont want to fry my new clutch). Will be fiddling around with different filter setups and locations to see where i make the most power and where i can reduce the induction sound. The exhaust is actually not that loud. 2nd Dyno run will be after the mods I discussed with you take place(read as very soon) Thanks for a very nice report. Viper

I might choose between the Hondata S300 or my AFC/Vtec controller as I am very satisfied with the power as of now and see no point in installing the S300 as of now(have already got it but its unused so I can sell it). As of now no vibrations or rattles in the approx 100kms that I have driven. Car feels the same as with my older engine. Leaving for Lonavala in a bit so will get back and post a report on the drive to and fro. Exhaust manifold is a DC Sports 4x2x1 SS whilst the rest of the piping, expansion and mufflers are custom made. Viper

| Viper amazing Stuff dude, since me located very close to your workshop, i try to spot the car near colaba causeway , but in vain since timings are different. Will spot it someday... just want to listen to the exhaust note carefully... Just a Question... i know it is stupid but i would like to know about it.. What is the FE of the car now? when u rip it and when u drive as a daily car like a proper drive without ripping it.? ![]() |
