Viper's engine swapped B16A2 OHC - Now Turbo Charged!!

Post no. 762 on 6th May 08 : I will most probably be dynoing the car tomorrow if Karan is free and I hope that the new dynograph can answer the queries raised here.

Lets stop all the fuss fuss ( ala snake ishtyle ) going on here - what say guys ??

Latest developments are that the car is getting a new bonnet with a scoop. Have fitted a temporary bonnet borrowed from a friends car pics attached. I have come to the conclusion that I need to do two things with my bonnet

1> Create a vent/scoop to let cool air in.
2> Make a hot air extractor as currently the engine bay is totally packed leaving no space for the hot air to exit. under hood temperatures are crazy and are causing plastics to melt.

Am getting a scoop as per pic attached for cool air + a Subaru type central mount scoop fitted in the reverse direction to serve as a hot air extractor. Having driven the car over the weekend with the temp bonnet I can easily see the diff it makes in keeping the engine bay cool.

@viper:Yor ride looks too mean,it looks good with the black bonet and the scoop you are making is taking a good shape,so when is the final product getting ready.

Techno - For the time being it is going to be matt black. May change to body colour once I am sure I am going to keep both scoops and it looks good. If not then may change to single scoop of different design. Its cheaper to experiment with a used hood and matt black paint before spraying it to body colour.

@ Binz - matching the paint will not be a issue as it is in-house. ANyways for the time being it will be matt black.

Im telling you that the Matt black bonnet willgo with the car very well (as I had told you about your wheels)
Whatever you decide, fill us in. Is the temporary hood with scoop doing its job of keeping the engine bay cool? Would you advise me to go for it too?

oh ! so thats the purpose those reverse positioned scoops serve eh! was always wondering why have a scoop facing the windshield..hope the hot air does not affect the windshield !!

did u consider the scorpio scoop ? i was at one point in time considering that purely for cosmetic reasons..

Makes sense. & I was going to suggest you that please use matt black instead of the current glossy one but you have that in mind already

I dint like the black hood at all.Infact its gives away the sleeper identy of the car.

Jiggy bhai, Although the matt black hood looks good but its just doesn't complete the "SLEEPER" look.
