Yes ,true, but if you look at the intake manifold closely there is a chamber inside the manifold body right under the throttlebody oriface which is then connected to the coupled runners... These runners are matched with the exhaust manifold too...

The reason not to have an intake manifold with higher cc plenum is prolly coz this little engine though gem of a one is restricted to a meagre 7100rpm(thanks to short stroke) and any more plenum column gain can result into driveability concerns at low rpms due to drop in air volume intake during the charging phase...but it will definitely generate marginally better torque close to redline.

Sorry for having taken this thread off its mark

Viper, in the pic of your tyre, 2/3rd of the tread is dusty and the rest is clean. Why so? not aligned?

Nahin yaar whiteknight. that's because the tyre has just been cleaned. Instead of just the sidewall a little of the tread has also been washed.

Hi,

Had sprayed the tyre foam on the tyre sidewalls when I got them. What you see on the tread is a little overlap of the spray.

Default Update

Hi Guys,

Just got a rear disc brake conversion done yesterday. Braking has improved tremendously. Driven about 50kms so far and would definitely recommend it.

Will post pics soon.

Congrats on your "new" car...very neat. Wondering can one fix disc brakes on a Lancer as well ?? If yes, cost involved?

Enjoy your ride

Cheers

Hi Ash,

Thanks for the compliments. For the time being have removed the rear discs and have gone back to OE drum brakes. I had 2 freak part failures at the same time and could not figure out what was causing the problem. Brake master cylinder and wheel cylinder and it took a couple of days to identify the faulty parts. Since I needed the car daily I switched back to my OE brakes.

Car will be going for a paint job coming week so looks like you can only get a ride after the 2nd week of May.

@Ricky 63 - It can be done but not aware of the exact costs involved. Almost may not be a bolt on concersion like the city and may involve modifications. Approx cost should be upwards of 25k.

Default Update on Paint job

Hi Guys,

Have finished the first stage of the proposed major mods to my car and posting some pics below. They do not do justice to the actual paint finish which is a real mother of pearl 3 stage paint job.

Have also changed the Alloys to new 15" ones tyres same as before.

Let the comments flow in. Will open a seperate thread on the engine, brake & suspension mods as and when they are done.
