| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Wheels: We've decided to keep the wheels as it is (chrome). Front mudguard: The front mudguard is being furthered shortened and less tapering at the end. Not sure if it would be possible to chrome it after all the cutting its gone through. The mudguard brackets were touching the tyres when we tried fitting them. The fabricator said he would try and cut it in such a way that it doesnt touch the tyre. If it does, we would have to cut the brackets and fit it on the outside. The length of the mudguard will be 4.5 in from the center on either sides. Currently it is longer in the front (around 6-6.5 in) and more tapering at either ends. ![]()

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | The front mudguard is finally ready. The supporting brackets have been welded outside but they still touch the tyre. I think that the guys messed up while fitting the new tyre. Cos the tyre is more closer to the left fork than the right. And thats causing the problem with the mudguard. Can anyone advise what may have gone wrong here?? ![]() ![]()

Possibly the also reason why the tyre touched the mudguard. Got it re-aligned and its now properly in the center. Annoying this is that, we got the wheel removed, got the tyre off the wheel, re-aligned it, put the tyre back on, fit the mudguard, fit the wheel back on. After its all done, we look at the tyre oddly and find out that: "Its mounted in the opposite direction!!!"

Got the brake pedal for the right rearset. Should be done this week. We're hell bent on chroming the front mudguard. Will be taking it tomorrow to the chrome guy to check if its possible.

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | After looking at the amount of beating and welding this thing has gone through, I never thought it would be possible to chrome this thing. But the plating guy did a magnificient job. The mudguard has been plated, but not the brackets. The brackets could have been chromed, but it would have looked bad on the weld spots. So we might just paint them matt black. Anyways the brake pedal has been fitted, but its out of reach as of now. Need to hammer and adjust it accordingly. ![]()

| Senior - BHPian | wonderfull and the best pictorial description i have come across in our forums.let it tick on so that a comprehensive report may flow out some day.it would have been nice if the costs involved are also mentioned so that we get an idea about the project in that angle too. best of luck guys, ram

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | The brackets on the front mudguard have been painted black and a sticker job also done on it. Lacquer coating is left to be done on the bracket so that the sticker work does not come off. We are still working on how to make a removable cowl. Will post updates on this once we arrive at an idea. Parts fitted today :
Fork Gaiters : The Fork Gaiters are from Hero Honda. They are of much better quality than the original Royal Enfield ones. The biggest pain of fitting these (or any fork covers) is that you have to open up the entire front assembly. Fork Reflectors : Reflectors have been fitted from the TVS Victor. These are the stick-on types. Rear Indicators : The Indicators have been mounted at the rear frame where the seat has been mounted. Not sure if we really like it. Might fit them on the rear shocks after a few days if we're bored.
