| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Thanks for the pics dimali. The paint looks good. From where did you get the Smith's gauge? Also why have you not chrome-plated the exhaust. It would look much better. Regarding the below tail-lights, they stick out a lot and i didnt like it. Although the indicators look good. ![]()

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Anyways here are the latest updates : The engine has been removed and the painting would start (and possibly end) on Monday. Till then suggestions on the paint-job are most welcome. The guard and the exhaust have been removed inorder to get the ebgine out. ![]() The tank is removed too. ![]() Cables being disconnected. ![]() The final moment. ![]() There it sits proudly along with the chain, footrests and other nuts and bolts. ![]() The tank and the Goldstar silencer stored safely. ![]()

| Gordon, does that taillamp have the brake light. I had one like that, made by Minda, it didn't have the brake lamp. You can get the Smiths 'type' speedo meter from these guys in delhi. They'll ship it to you. The Smith's type is calibrated in miles and the price is Rs.500. They have lots of stuff that goes to the export market check out their website. I've emailed them once and they're prompt in replying. India's leading distributor of motorcycle parts. Specialists in Royal Enfield spares and accessories. ![]() @Dimali: How much did you pay for the automech exhaust, Does the package include the header pipe as well? Which handlebar is that? | Couple of pics of my Bull, it's quite messy you can see the ol leaks. The head and the gasket needs to be changed, not being able to as i'm not in Banglore. Will post a 'cleaner' pic after the job has been completed. ![]() ![]() |

The rear is a 18-inch Michelin MT45 sourced from Metro Tyres in Mumbai. The specs are 4.00X18 which would roughly translate into 110/90. I liked the softer compound and the fact that it was about 3 pounds lighter than the Pirelli of the same tread design and specs that I was considering. Plus it dropped straight into the swing arm and I have a half-inch clearance left. The handling is good though the lower height may have affected gearing. I seem to have enough low end torque and throttle response, so plan to move up to a 17T countershaft sprocket for more relaxed top end, ie same top speed at lower rpm. Smiths chrono sourced from a friend.

I am also working on a junked Citybike 500cc. Plan is to restore it back to standard looks, some head work and a see through look by relocating the battery, coil, rectifier and regulator in the tool box. Airbox will be replace by a K&N conical filter. Would have liked a pancake type air filter, but then if wishes were horses....
