Default Pictorial Progress: V12's Cafe Racer Project! Updated pics!

I'm not sure if you guys are aware of this or no, but V12 is too busy with this thing that he call's The Cafe Racer project. Anyways after a long time, the work has now begun and its gonna be done in parts as and when the stuff is ready. Will try my best to post the pics along with the costs too in every stage.

The work is being done by Danny, an expert Bullet mechanic who's worked on only Bullet's from the past 15 years). The mod has been planned by V12 and is being executed by Danny. All parts are original Bullet parts which are being cut into shape for a customised cafe racer look. As of now its only the Goldstar silencer and the rear mudguard that have been fitted. Other parts are in the process of being ready.

As of now, no engine modifications have been planned except for the Goldstar Silencer, K&N Filter and an upsized fuel jet.

The costs of modifications will be posted once the project is complete.

Here are pics of some stages that are already under process.

Nice pictures Gordon. Well just a query to V12 or you -

Wouldn't the cut-short Electra mudguard throw muck on the pillion during monsoon or are you going to put a rubber mudflap at the tail?

The bike is never ridden in muck nor is it ever taken out during the monsoons. No rubber mudflap.

Only the rear mudguard will be lowered by cutting the rear frame.

I should have known it is V12's bike and will remain immaculate. Good work!

Update on the project :
The mudguard needs to be cut an inch more to make it low. The frame too has to be cut around 2 inches and re-welded. The mudguard would also need to be bent a bit more since it is not aligned properly.

Tail-lights too have not been decided. Most probably would be the BSA-type ones but the quality of the light is too cheap. May come up with a unique idea for a tail-light.

Guys need some help here :
1. Any idea where you can get Ceat Secura Sport 3.5x19 size tyres in Bombay.
Ceat Tyre :

Honda_dude, glad to know you appreciate V12's original Bullet.

The work is not complete and is in the process. Of course he wouldn't leave it colorless. The rear mudguard will be painted black and will be lowered.

WOW!! Great work there. I'm not a great fan of Motorcycles though and knows everything about these like MunnaBhai knows history.
But from the posts and pics, I can understand the pain and effort that he has put in to this project.

Great JOB!! Keep it up!!

Will it be ready by the time of Speedrun??

Superb! Really, really lovely. Gordon, please give my compliments to V12.

By the way, do let me know where you get your chroming done. A friend of mine with a 750 Vulcan Kwacker has been looking to get stuff chromed on his putt-puttee since ages, but we can't seem to find a reliable, quality supplier.

Thanks & all the best for the project.

Sure. There's this guy in Andheri (E) who does chrome plating. Will find out and let you know. Also the mudguards are going to be painted black and not chromed.

Nice work. I was always interested in a cafe racer bullet, I'm sure it'll come out nice.

Gordon make the goldstar silencer sit at a slightly higher angle for the cafe look.
Instead of using the ceat rubber it'll be better if you put modern pattern rubber but not too wide. For that you should make the rim 18", but a 19" duro tyres with modern tread design is available in delhi.
