Thanks guys!
4000 rpm sounds tame, but given that I've religiously been shifting at 3k or below, it's a treat for me
The bad news is I'm still stuck in office and will be here for some more time. The good news is that the roads are empty this time of day

@toiingg: not 1000 kms yet, but not that far away either. anyway, got the green signal from viper, and i'm not arguing!!

Somehow I didn't notice this thread before, but today, I read it whole in one go along with photo album at Picasa.

The car simply looks awesome. There is this saying na "Sabar ka fal meetha hota hai"

@austere_sly: thanks!

A small update. Went up to 4000 rpm yesterday. Felt tempted to keep the pedal to the metal, but eased up and shifted. Even at 4000, the car was sounding and feeling sweet Still a way to go though.
Quite some things to be done, including:
- Change to Pedders suspension
- Steering work to be done along with suspension
- Wheel alignment
(Steering feels a little wobbly at high speeds, and tyres tend to turn when they hit a bump... hoping the above steps will fix this)

- Fit the Ractive filter + intake pipe + heat shield
- Iron out some minor squeaks and rattles that plague most old cars!

To be done post 1000 kms:
- Tappet adjustment
- Retorque the head (if needed)
- Switch to synthetic oil
- Fit the Tri-phase module

Guess what guys? The front Pedders shock absorbers have not yet arrived! I've lost track of time now
Anyway, hope they're here soon...

I think you should give the importer the stick regarding the shocks.

Have you noticed any power increment post overhaul in low end torque?

Well, the overhaul itself will not lead to much of an increase in low end torque. The engine is defintely running much smoother now.
The other mods to the engine + the FFE have added some low-end grunt, though given my economical style of driving, I have not experienced much of it. Patience is a virtue that is highly underrated!!

Quite a few, but the good news is that I don't have to restrict the revs to 3000. Can go to 4000+ when I want to.
Car felt nice at the higher revs. This is typical Lancer though. It's not as peppy at the low-end, but it kinda gets a kick-start (and you can actually feel the surge, almost like a turbo kicking in after the lag) once it crosses 3000 RPM or so. Am hoping that once the engine parts bed in nicely, the low-end will do better.
