The Koni comparable to Pedders Comfort Gas would probably be Koni FSD. I think this costs around 35k (10k+ more than the Pedders).

AFAIK Koni FSD is available only for Octavia (i may be wrong though).

FSDs are not comparable to anything on the market, AFAIK. Koni has 2 ranges, one for street and one for sport.

I have seen the Methods price list.
They had FSDs for the Octy only and this is 3 months back.
Each strut cost 10k,IIRC.

@ Razor

The KONI's cost around 40k. That was the quoted price when I was looking at using them on my Lancer. So they are SURELY available for the Lancer. I know of another Lancer running on KONI's right now. You can pm Autopsyche for exact prices.

Cheers

Even if they are SURELY available, check stock availability.
Methods usually never has stock.

Update: After some serious thought, I have cancelled the order for the Pedders shocks.
I will be getting stock replacement struts to use with the Pedders Heavy Duty coil springs.
In a way, this will probably be a close to ideal setup, because the Lancer is a great handler in stock form (and with the Michelin PP2's I have been really happy with the handling, especially around corners), and the Pedders springs will improve things even further. Stock struts will give me a better ride than the harder Pedders, and this is probably a blessing in disguise for me

@planet: I have already paid in full for the shocks, but I spoke to Krupesh and he will be refunding the money.

good to hear that. it probably is better anyway. and if you run your present suspension for too long it might mess up the tyre wear.

Hi

Wise decision - now just get your suspension overhauled fast, you will straight away feel a lot of difference.

Cheers

Ok, something intersting happened. I had called and cancelled my order on Friday after I was told that the Pedders may arrive in the 3rd week of September. Quite frankly, I was a little fed up of the never-ending postponements and was not sure if I would ever get to see the things I had purchased. Moreover, as many of you had said, a suspension overhaul at the earliest was imperative to protect the new tyres amongst other things. So I took the step.

Then, I got a call today from Chennai that the shocks had arrived and was I still interested? Miraculous, eh?

Anyway, since I had waited so long, I said what the heck, I want those Pedders. Also did some Q&A to ensure that the ride would not be too hard on these shocks. It comes with VRD (Velocity Responsive Damping) which makes it stiff at high speeds and more pliant at low speeds. Hope they do the trick.
Here are some more details on the Pedders Comfort Gas shocks:
Pedders Comfort Gas - Thr Benefits of VRD - Pedders Suspension

So it looks like I am back to the originally planned suspension setup

Good work Razor! Funny how the Pedders miraculously appeared 3 weeks ahead of schedule!!

Do keep us posted on how this upgrade goes & (more importanly for me) how the PP2's are in your opinion.

Truth be told, I haven't been able to push them yet since I have been taking things easy in the run-in phase. Also, without a good suspension+steering overhauling I don't want to comment on the tyres. First impressions have been good... just how good they are, we shall see!

Patience dude Am still under the weather, and comp usage is restricted. The XLS needs some updating... will take care of it as soon as I get better.
