Default lancer for < 80K

I saw the pics of the original lancer and some of the old parts and it does not look that bad... its a steal man!!!! Let me know if you get to know of some more deals like this!!! It would be worth traveling from Bangalore to Cal to buy such a thing man! or better still, if you get to know of more such deals, please buy it and start an overhaul again... you will do better as u would have learnt from your experience (as you were mentioning that you want to prepare a lessons learnt list), and what to do with your current car, sell it to me

Lol. The car belonged to a company previously, and they calculate the disposal price of a car when they want to sell it, based on some depreciation rates they have. Suited me just fine

EBC Greenstuff brakes fitted! EBC recommends taking it easy on the brakes for the first 100 miles, so will comply. Brake pedal feels less spongy and car was responding well to the gentle taps on the pedal. Seems promising. A round of spirited driving is called for once the brakes bed in.

Got a chance to test the Greenstuff brakes yesterday, since the 100 mile bed-in period is over. Works like a charm. Braking is very confidence-inspiring, miles better than stock. Will know if there is any improvement on the brake fading aspect when I push the car more. For now, it seems like money well spent.

Now these are supposed to handle cars that put out up to 200 BHP.
Hmm, 200 BHP? What were those magical letters again? M-I-V-E-C?
Who knows, someday...

Oh no, now you would need an engine to match the brakes.

Lol. Wish I could. No Vitamin M now! But yes, definitely something I have on my mind. Commonwealth 2010 still on

Given the mods I already have on my car, what are the things I would need for a MIVEC swap?
- Engine + transmission
- ECU + wiring
- Brakes: Upgrade the front discs and convert the rear drums to discs (maybe).
- Maybe change the speedo, tacho to keep up with a more powerful engine

What else?

The brakes and the suspension of the stock JDM are part of the package. The new instrument panel would be needed for the tacho which redlines at 8350rpm and is marked till 10,000rpm.

For more info check out Sideways' garage.
