Audio controls on Steering?

My personal opinion is ALL cars should come with the Steering wheel having audio controls( at least as a option) , but unfortunately we have only few models who offer these things.

I have following questions regarding same

1) Can we fit sx4 steering (with audio controls) on swift?
2) Is there any place / site from which we can get steerings for current cars?
3) Is there any standard / certificate we should check before buying Audio head unit , so that it can be integrated with the steering smoothly?
4) Can we integrate car audio + mobile phone and control the same through the steering wheel?

rightly put, much more handy than using wireless remotes.. but will take ages for car manufacturers in India to agree with that.

I have been looking around for the above for my getz, but no luck yet.. would appreciate if the readers could help with pointers.. India & Abroad...

I was just thinking the same thing. Steering remotes are available for Blaupunkt and Pioneer HUs. The Blau ones would need an IR sensor added on to the HU. The Pio remotes don;t need additional IR sensors.

AFAIK Alpines don't have aftermarket steering-mounted remotes (though some cars come with their OE steering controls).

I'm not sure about steering remotes for the other brands.

Yes, Pioneer HU have Steering Remote (CD-SR100).

It is available for Rs.1400/-.

well there are bluetooth compatible headunits. i have that pioneer 7850bt.

with this the car audio and mobile can be integrated and controlled through the remote which is provided. don't know about the steering though.

Its a very handy thing to have! makes it so easy to skip songs/CDs while driving. It really doesn't take a person's concentration off the roads,hence its not a distraction.

I'm sure there are a ton of suppliers in China who make these units for other car companies. I'll see if I can come up with something.

heave heard of these, but would they be directly fit-table on a Hyundai stock steering? contours and angles, I mean..

Or, would I need to change the wheel to suit the remote?

These steering remotes have belt on it so you can easily tie up to the stock steering wheel,trust me they are VFM and very handy to use,personally my fav.installs

I am planning to buy a Pioneer Steering Remote & I tried contacting a lot of pioneer dealers in bangalore and every dealer quoted me a price ranging from Rs.2000 to Rs.2500, it would be really great if i get it for Rs.1400.

I bought my Pioneer steering mounted remote for 1300/- in Cochin...It costs 1700/- in trivandrum....

@vijay - 2000/- seems too high...

the blaupunkt remote that clips on to the steering is 1.9k if anyones interested.. compatible with blau hu's i guess

Guys the Pioneer Steering remote shouldn't cost more than Rs.1100.
