I dont want to sound arbitrary, but with the carb setup he's got now, I dont think that engine's gonna make too much horsepower. I may be wrong though.

I go there only for minor jobs Riju. Havent given any thought about going to them for more serious work yet.

My good old Roots horns were not working well (dad had bought them in 1982 for our fiat, went into our next fiat, into our next 800 and now into the esteem). Had to get the points and internals changed and its workin like a charm now.

Had accompanied a colleague few months back and saw other pricey cars undergoing serious body/performance work.

P.S. Glad you all liked my discovery. thanks for the comments.

Where is this engine from? One that comes to mind is the I-6 from the Ford Falcon from the land down under. Have driven this car in Sydney..I thought it was a 4.0

I am in the States. Does one have to pay import duties on engines? I know vehicles have duties levied against them but what about just the drivetrain?

Awesome find man, talk about an Indian muscle car. Ask your mechanic how it moves....if possible, get a test-drive and post a report here .

Would be great if the owner of this Amby could come over and discuss his experience.

This car's been on-road for over 2 years with this setup.
Its a Ford-Falcon engine that he'd brought down from Australia. Inline 6 engine.
Had some problems with plonking the engine in amby's bay.
Infact, the project was even showcased in the HINDU.

What if someone is gifting an engine and transmission setup or even better a car itself?

Then you have to pay duties, case in point is Sachin and his Ferrari.

I was talking about small items like bulbs and all which are ordered from autolamps UK, are send as gifts to by pass customs
