Default suraksha bommanhalli

Hi gpa,
I have been there regarding this already 5 times, they say its common for the swirls to come after rubbing so finally i have given up,i personally cant things too seriously with them because i am obliged they saved my car when i took the delivery of my alto in may 08,i found some thing was wrong .i took it to mandovi ,fast cars everybody said its fine and alto is underpowered so finally one day was browsing team-bhp ,when i was still not a member ,read a post of Mr A k Roy ,suggesting suraksha ,immediately they diagnosed it was because of injector block ,from that time i am very faithfull to suraksha ,and regarding paint job i let the matter go.thanks

A.S.S centers in BLR seem to be outsourcing the painting & tinkering jobs. A couple of other BHP-ians & I have been going to one such person close to Adugodi. If we can get the same job done by the same guys (as the A.S.S does), and at about half the price, it does make a lot of sense.

I see. The Suraksha recommended here for paint work is the one at Adugodi. In any case, would be good to see the snaps to understand the problem better.

One thing I realized is that if some panel already had undergone some 'repair'/filler/putty application, then it could be difficult to get a great finish for that panel ...
Besides, the dust problem is also a big one.

Even I had issues with the paint job from Surakshaa (BOM). Had to send it back another day for more rubbing and polishing. They had also left out to paint few broken paint patches!!!

OT: The most recent repair they did was also not good... They missed out to tighten the bolts to the required level and this caused them to loosen up! (Am talking about the front arm rods) Thankfully nothing major happened and got it fixed now.

Default Tinkering and Painting at Surakshaa, Adugodi

Today morning, I visited Surakshaa, Adugodi and met Mr. Ramamurthy regarding the tinkering and painting of the bonnet and front bumper of my Accent. There are two dents on the bonnet and a tear near the fog lamp on the front bumper.

He said he will use 'surface puller' to remove the dents on the bonnet and some 'repair kit' to fix the bumber tear. He said it will take 2-3 days to complete the work and quoted the following charges:

Remove and fix bonnet - 220
Remove and fix bumper - 180
Tinkering of bonnet - 1900
Tinkering of bumper - 450
Painting of bonnet - 3400
Painting of bumper - 2800

10.3% service tax on top of this, if I need a bill. All together, close to 10K.

I'm not planning to claim insurance for this since I may not get anything more than 50% of this from the insurance company and it will affect my NCB. The car is almost 6 year old.

Since I've never got similar work done earlier, would like to hear from folks here on these quotes and the work process he is proposing.

Regards
Rex

I collected my car on Sunday (31/May). Mr. Ramamurthy came to deliver the car even though it was a holiday for the workshop. I was pretty impressed with the work on the bonnet. It was a great job with excellent color match. But, I was not happy with the bumper job. There was a clear blister kind of crack right in the front, by the side of the number plate. Also, there were couple of small holes appear to be unfilled, near the fog lamp. I was upset that they didn't check the finish before asking me to come and collect the car.

Being a Sunday Mr. Ramamurthy could not get them fixed that day. So, he asked to come in any day and he promised to get them fixed in 30 minutes. Yesterday (6/June) I visited the workshop and the workshop supervisor told me that the work will take 1 - 1.5 hours. I told him about the time estimate given by Mr. Ramamurthy. He said the work will get over in 20 minutes, but it requires at least an hour of drying time. Finally, they took almost 1.5+ hours and I could collect the car at 6.15pm. Again, I'm impressed with the work. It looks very neat and almost perfect.

Two things I did not appreciate were:
(1) I wanted them to call me once the tinkering work is completed and before they start painting. They did not call me. When I called up, they said the painting has already started. So, I did not get a chance to look at the tinkering job.
(2) Delivering the car with a very visible blister, right in the front, was something not expected from them. The second spot which required rework was not that easily noticeable, but the blister near the number plate, really was.

Still, I would recommend Surakshaa for the tinkering/painting kind of job. But, need very a close follow-up to get a good result.

Regards
Rex

@Rex, good that the job was finally completed to your satisfaction. My experience shows that the quality of job has a significant bearing with the attention, effort and time the customer as well puts. Just an unfortunate aspect out here :-(

Hi Guys,
I need some help for remove a dent on my Hyundai Accent. A yellow board sumo bumped into me and there is a damage on rear door, neighbouring panel and also it has damaged the bumper hinge that connects the rear bumper and car body. Hyundai *** has provided an estimate of 19k (bumper will be replaced) where as fast cars is quoting around 9k (bumper will be repaired).

I have gone through this thread and most of the workshops mentioned here are either in Bangalore south or Bangalore Central (Adugodi, Alsoor etc). Can somebody share details for a good workshop on old airport road or Whitelfield area. Even outer ring road around Marathahalli is ok. Thanks is advance for the help.

Regards,
Deepak

Deepak, don't be too picky on the location since it is a major job to be done. Go for a good place even if it is a little far. I can recommend myTVS on Bannerghata Road (opp Sagar Appolo). They did a good job of repairing my Civic bumper after a nasty dent due to careless reversing. They specialise on repairing rather than replacing. I had a problem with a slight colour mismatch but that was rectified.

Thats a good decision. Going to A.S.S is always better unless you have the time to sit in the garage till the car is repaired.
