But still a slight slope and may be if he is running on a 16"/17" wheels with higher profile tyres will make a difference, but not quite convincing enough for me to close the case
damn! i totally forgot you car wasnt completely stock!!!!!!!! anyway point made.....

i agree- thats either too much petrol mixed in the vodka or too much vodka mixed in the petrol!

Default some info!

most of the cars have speedo sensors on differential /gear box.
and the reading is caliberated to the stock tyres with stock gears .
so even if u put the tyre which has 10 inch more circumference. the speedometer will not show the difference< or the actual> .it will show the distance/speed which would have been traveled if the stock tyres with stock gear ratios would have attended. so
changing tyres with bigger circumference will definately run faster than the stock one with the same ratio but the speedo wont show it !!!

all the 1596 cc engines hit @7200 rpm though i never tried that in 5th gear.
but the last time i heard, the s10 had overdrive on 5th gear whereas in the gtx,the 4th and the 5th gear, both are overdrives.i'm not really sure.

Even i had heard the same and there was a link actually pointing out more things different in the S10 gearbox.

May be its just a speedo mod he he... I personally know one guy who knows in and out of speedos of any car.... Make the speedo start from 100, and 220 is easily achievable :-)

I seriously doubt whether that's a 1.6 engine!

Default hi!

it seems to be an authentic speedo+authentic rpm meter but the gear ratio seem to be different as all 1.1,1.2,1.6,1.9 palios attain 117 kmph at 3000 rpm in top gear. ... plus the car seems to be a lhd one , + ,the firing note sounds different too + the camming is way different ... it seems to be a different engine .. a brazilian one .
and yes there are many things which i dont know .....

Default yes !!

best of my knoledge its not an indian palio 1.6 .
its a brazilian palio and in brazil there are hunderds of palios who can touch 22kmph ..
if u care to search the u tube @ palio ull be surprised with the outputs the people are getting out of the 1.6 16 v engines !

Default Its not a RHD car

It sure is a LHD vehicle.. look at the position of the wiper in this pic. the wiper arm seems to be originating from the left..the rivit on the wiper blade is a giveaway. Now if it was a RHD vehicle, the wiper cannot come down somuch to the right while in use. It has to be a LHD vehicle i am also not sure if its a Palio.

Ditto... In S10 only the 5th is an overdrive unlike the regular GTX where 4th and 5th both are overdrive ratio's.
