I have been using a PETES TUNING BOX for my octy . It gives an extra minimum of 25BHP for my car. Been using it for 2and half years without any problems. Also went in for K&N stock airfilters for enhanced performance.

Make sure u also go in for tyre upgrades too. My choice is 215/55 R16 DUNLOP SPORT 9000got the tyres for rs 6500 per tyre. Petes tuning box cost 31000 approx . Forgot to mention earlier have a pair of of petes air checkers for my tyres . Tyre pressure for tyre up grade is mentioned on the inside of octavia's fuel cap. Please follow these tyre pressure for ur tyres. Best way to do this is to fill up the tyres with nitrogen. Tyre pressure decreases by 1 psi to 2 psi only in around 80 to 90 days so less time spent at the petrol bunk. Petes air checkers available for various tyres and of various psi( 28 , 30 , 32, 34). A pair will cost u around rs 350 or so. Been using petes air checkres for 2 an half yrs. MY tyre up grades r good but only one problem they wear out faster because they are made of softer rubber compound for better cornering and better grip during rainy season. Expect a mileage of max of 45000 km from these tyres. Inspite of tyre upgrades i get a mileage of 16.5 to 18 km in city with ac.Ofcourse i do not drive my vehicle without my ac on.

Cost of brake pads and tharox rotors is 32000 rs. Forgot to mention if u go in for tharox upgrades insist on warranty which petes gives. Of course no extra payment for warranty. Also went in for the anti roll bar which went inside the bonnet Bolted above the front struts . Cuts down on the body roll while cornering and breaking at high speeds and also cuts down on the understear. Anti roll bar make is AUDI which comes as OE in skoda vehicles used in other countries (europe, newzeland and australia).

Also have a pair of MILTEK MAKE shocks as bonnet opener. works like a charm. Need not fiddle with the stick for supporting ur bonnet . If u guys plan to go in for rotor and brake pad up grades go in for the grooved rotors G88 instead of tharox drilled japan sport. Read in many forums o
n the net that drilled rotors may at times break! You have been cautioned. MY vehicle is octavia RIDER. Guys go in for these basic upgrades and feel the difference of your SKODA OCTAVIA! If u want mileage + power go in for the stock replacement of K&N OR GREEN COTTON .

Petes tuning box has three settings . 1ST setting is off . 2ND setting is on and u will get a minimum of 25 hp more . 3RD setting u have an increase of power in this setting over the second setting with a loss of mileage. I myself have set it to the second level and in this setting there is no loss of mileage due to increase in power . So mileage + power = great satisfaction !. Remember guys if u go in for these upgrades there is also a positive side to it . To moro even if u want to sell of the skoda u can remove these fittings because every thing is either plug and play or bolted to the vehicle So when u sell of the vehicle remove all the above mentioned fittings and sell them off separately . in this way u get to recover at least 50% of the cost of these fittings!

Forgot to mention my alloys r skoda 16" alloys from the skoda dealer in KOCHI(COCHIN) . Tyre pressure for my tyre upgrade is 32 psi for the front and 34 for the back tyres Cost of replacement stock K&N AIR FILTER was rs 5000. Cost of alloy wheels rs 7000 per wheel. This is the short and sweet story of my modded octavia . Happy riding guys

Petes tuning box has three settings . 1ST setting is off . 2ND setting is on and u will get a minimum of 25 hp more .

Whats the 1st setting all about ? If its off, does it mean the car is running stock ?

Every bit of the mod was done at petes at cochin. And yes the first setting is as good as stock. no the color of my car is not black but silver. U can see the vehicle lying next to petes office because iam his next door neighbour.

Forgot to post the pics .Sorry i am a bit busy but will try to post the pics in one or two days . Done 20000km with the tuning box without any hitch. And of course appreciate PETER answering the phone each time i call him.

i was also wondering is this the highest tuneing box from pete or do you get higher ones ?

Just one question, why 34 at the rear while its 32 for the fronts?

Hi Pentagan,in my skoda i have the same things except the airfilters.I changed the whole unit to Carbonio.With all these mods done more than 30000kms perfect.
But i didnt understand "Petes tuning box has three settings . 1ST setting is off . 2ND setting is on and u will get a minimum of 25 hp more" .
What i know is setting 1 gives u 20bhp.

infact it has 4 settings. on the first one the car is running with its stock air/fuel map. the second one is the one which gives you the 25bhp boost. then there are the 3rd and the 4th ones.

akshay 1234 u probably have a newer version of petes tuning box. Mine is an older version and as peter said is probably the 4th piece that he fixed in cochin. The newer version has also an extra switch that can be fit inside the car. This switch can be used to switch on and off the tuning box.

jkdas these are the specific tyre pressure mentioned by skoda for the tyre upgrades. The tpressure is provided on the sticker behind the fuel cap.

JERISH 666 / RJSTYLE 69 what i was trying to say was that u can turnoff the tuning box and then the vehicle would be in stock condition. This as i said was the first setting. And jerish please visit psi motorsport website because it is same tuning box that petes is selling . According to petes u get a minimum of 25 hp in the second setting and another 10 to 15 hp more over the second setting in the third setting . ie u will get a total of 35 to 40 more hp in the third setting. ie stock 90 hp+ tuning box 35 hp = total 125 horses for ur octavia ie 5 hp to 10 hp better than the chevy magnum.

LOLs ... its lip smacking ..so much in details!! I got in touch with Peter today for Verna box and spoke to their dealers in Mumbai. I hope ( will be getting) to get my car by Diwali. And just read about the new version of Pete's with 4 switches! Hope to get the car soon and then this one for to be mine Verna soon!
BTW - someone had mentioned about ( read the first review of Pete's by Rtech) a missing hook / strap ( rather suggested) to fit the box in engine bay. Does the box now come with the attachment for DIY mechanics- of course that would need to be a customised for different makes of cars/ Innova.( didnt write SUV as I guess currently among the bigger one's , Pete's is available only for Innova).

This is the best tuning box that is available . Tuning box is from psi motorsport marketed in india by petes .Of course u have ecu software upgrade from custom code again marketed by petes . More details on petes site.
