Default 200 km/hr+ in a Honda City ???

Hey guys,

The Speed

ImageShack - Hosting :: topspeed02sy6.jpg

The Car

ImageShack - Hosting :: mycar2bh3.jpg

Saw this on a website, and i would know your opinions as to if this is possible or not. Since I dont have a lot of knowledge on the technical parts of engine modifications here is the list on the only mods on the car at the time.

Hortbits Full Exaust System
K&N Drop In (Dunno what that is)
Mythology Light Crank Pulley (Harmonic Dampener)
Pivot Spark Plugs
Suspension has been adjusted

Speed was reached with RPM at 6000 mark. (Can be seen on the left of RPM meter in pic). This was achieved on a straight road and not down hill. The car a 1.5 CVT City.

Thanks in advance for your inputs guys.

Cheers!!!

I was going to say that it is possible, since my Vtec (without mods) had touched an indicated 195 kph.

Butttttttttttttttttttttttt

Thats a Type 1 NHC which has around 88bhp in other countries. The 77bhp indian version reaches about 170kmph in stock form. 200 on this car is really impressive. But since it's a speedo read, i wouldn't really believe it.

impressive. but questionable.
IMHO, speedo show-offs on internet are 100% unreliable.

and, my question will be "On a NHC 1.5 CVT???"

a clear and comprehensive list of mods could clear this up to a certain extent.

A simple intake and exhaust cant give this much gain.
I'm assuming you understand the aero drag issues at high speeds and how much additional power it will take for the car to go from it's stock top speed to 200kmph.

And somebody please check what gear the transmission display is showing in the first pic (in the Right meter) for a moment, I thought it was "N"...lol. It looks so much like an N instead of D to my eyes....

Well the gear indicator is on D, as the sequence from top to bottom is P-parking, R-Reverse, N-Neutral and D-drive...
But, my questionable point will be the camera.. This looks like a 1 or 2 pixel Mobile phone shoot ...... I very much doubt it is a Canon Digital camera's shoot...

About acheiving speeds of 200 kmph with 1.5 liter engine, is very much possible, with the engine floored to its max limit and vibrations unbearable. Only driver, extra weights stripped off, could be some tail-winds helping. (I am not joking here.. Tail winds give real good boost to speeds of that magnitude especially in open roads like those in the Gulf...) A Corolla 1.6 Liter car in Saudi Arabia can easily touch 200 kmph without any diffuculty.

I have just touched 200 kmph in a 1991 model Lancer in Kuwait... It was an 1.6 Liter machine.

You could do 200 easily if there is a long, long downward incline too

No doubt about that. 200 can be possible with external help.

Hey funkydevil, can't believe that only the Filter & Exhaust did it. If thats the case in an NHC AT, what about NHC MT ?

Wow, wonderful! The indian version isn't able to reach 200 km/h because of it being detuned I guess. But could be possible just because of those 2 upgrades (not in India).

Btw, the wheels in the picture look lovely.

Thats BS, its not possible and NHC is not capable of going more then 180kmph, after all these mods. Speedo error.

BTW wrong tyre upsize help in excess speed at the speedo. The car must be doing 185kmph(since its a 88bhp or maybe 110bhp Vtec version)
